Hey guys, i was wondering how many plants should i grow in COCO/PERLITE MIX to run in a 1.20x1.20cm space to get maximum yield under 600W DualSPEC + what size of pots should i get is 7.5L too big? what size of RES for that system?

The same question for another tent i have 60x60cm with mars2LED 400W, how many plants and what pot size? for maximum yield what size of RES for that system?

Thanks alot guys for whom help me i`m excited to go coco and i want to pre prepared.

Edit: Another though i had, if i got CANNA full set of nutes will i still need to get a cal/mag solution ??

* should i get EC meter or PPM ?

* how can i tell the EC after i fed the plant to check if should go up or down if the waste of multiple plants goes into one container after feeding?. i do an avarage?

What up Kosher!! Wish i could help more but my experience with coco as hydro is very limited, but ill try and answer some of your q's. Do u want to recycle the runoff or drain to waste?? Also, how are you gonna water? (like handwater or on a drip system?)

not sure how many plants you should grow... i would grow 5 i think.

7.5L is a good size pot. The res depends on how many plants you want. I use a 5 gallon res, for two 1 gallon pots. If you grew 5 plants in your big tent and each pot is 7.5l, you would need a big one for them, like one of those 75L tubs for the res. Make sure it's lightproof!!

Another though i had, if i got CANNA full set of nutes will i still need to get a cal/mag solution ??

Canna nutes are reliable and they already have the extra cal/mag the coco requires, so you're good there bro. I never had to use extra calmag.

If you can, check out the Advanced Nutrients PH Pefect Coco nutes. No need for PH and EC.. Just got them so i cant vouch for them but so far my seedling seems to love it and i love the fact that i dont have to adjust the ph :)

should i get EC meter or PPM ?
Yea u will need an EC meter and a PH meter. I would get an EC over the PPM, reason being that ppms are unreliable. Some manufacturers use different scales than others so one meter could read 1000ppm and another could read 1500ppm.

EC is the same everywhere.

how can i tell the EC after i fed the plant to check if should go up or down if the waste of multiple plants goes into one container after feeding?. i do an avarage?

As far as i know, you can't check the runoff with coco. Dont know why just what ive read on here so dont worry about that.
:Sharing One: Glad you're switching it up bro, i think you'll love coco. I've been reusing the same coco for like 4 grows now love the stuff!!

Hey brother thanks for your time to reply :)

Ok so i will use the 7.5Lairpots, AN is unavailable in my country so ill be using CANNA.
If you say that i cant check the ec of the runoff so how could i tell if i should go the EC or down? (beside watching the plant and leaf tips)

You dont bro, cuz the coco works differently than soil. Just make sure the feed is ph'd at 5.8, if you're getting canna coco the EC must be at least 0.8

What brand of coco are u buying??

What we have here is a mix of coco-perlite goes in 50L bags:S not much information bout it actually on the store:(

50%grossed coco and 50%perlite is that good?

Hey kosher, I wouldn't want to go against Jay's advice, but I grew plants in a very similar setup (also using canna) and calmag was definitely needed
It differs from strain to strain and environment you provide but generally coco + autos + LEDs = massive calmag hunger
That being said canna does include some calmag in the base nutes, but I wouldn't start growing without a bottle ready just in case - just my opinion!
Best of luck :goodluck:

Sounds good if you're gonna be on a drip system.. those 600watters produce a good amount of heat so the pot will dry out fast. If you're on a drip you can schedule multiple feeds per day.

thanks guys i just trying to figure out how to assemble a drip system aswell

Kosher, definitely get yourself some cal-mag. I know canna comes with extra cal-mag for coco, but not all coco is the same and others require more than some.

My meter measures in both PPM or EC, it looks like EC is more popular world wide, so go with EC.

I never measure runoff of my coco. I always keep my PH 5.6-6.2 (as the plant progresses, so does my target PH), and always try and maintain 5.8 if you are not sure.

As for knowing if you are over or under feeding, you must be able to read the plants. You must always try and stick with a target EC when making your resevoir. I do not use EC so I'm afraid I'm not the one to give examples for EC throughout a plants life.

And as for the seeds you asked me about, I know they are all great seeds and great breeders. I've never grown any of buddhas, but DP has always stood out to me.

Good luck on your grow, keep us posted.
