Live Stoner Chat Colorado retail weed. Rip off.

How much does supply and demand figure into the retail price?

I've read that the dispensaries can only sell what they grow, and because of the overwhelming demand and relatively few number of dispensaries, the supply will take a few more months to meet the demand. Therefore the current high prices. But as more dispensaries open over time, this will lead to a more balanced supply and demand equation and lower prices.

Am I understanding the situation correctly or am I over-simplifying the cause for the inflated retail prices?

The article I saw about CO indicated that the dispensaries had to grow 70% of their sales. You are correct in that the supply was not ready to meet the demand and thus the gouging is taking place. It will even out once the supply catches up. I'm sure some CO can chime in with better details about the current situation.

I want to start a cannabis farm, then apply to the government to pay me not to plant it........ now, at $400 an ounce reimbursement, how many pounds could I not grow on 100 acres.........

70% yes is the law that passed.

They had a one time transfer from medical. Trust me with as much talk of how big it was going to be, they knew it was going to be big. They have plenty.
The state has been slow to give retail license, part of the fault is with the people that filled them out wrong.
Understand too the only people that could open up retail at the start of retail are the medical shops.
Trust me they had a good FUCKING idea how big it was going to be.

Ill give the ripoff retail shops one thing, high price high tax, high tax people are not going to be happy about 40 million dollars or more leaving the schools.
People love schools !!!!

I think that is socialistic toilet talk.
Pull your head out your bum please. I really don't want to be taxed for a right.

BTW depending on what you grow your permit cost different. So invest in the 100 acres. Start up cost with water, tractors, crew, land, insurance, 100 acre greenhouse, ect may only be around 5 million or more

You would only need to grow 3125 lbs of weed to cover start up cost.
