Hi I'm a new grower an I was wondering what is Ppm I know you need a tds meter to check the ppm but what does is got to do with soil an what range should I have it at if I'm gonna use Ph tap water

PPM is just Parts Per Million, one way to very basically measure how much stuff is in a liquid. It's not even really anything to bank much on. TDS is Total Disolved Solids, so the TDS meter measures in PPM. Tap water should hopefully be under 300, much of which is probably some form of calcium. Different feeding for different things can be up to 1000 or 1100.
