Hello world!
Im new to growing. This is the first time im growing an auto. Got is as a freebie.
Superbud Auto from sos @30 days from seed. Under 85watt CFL and a 150 watt LED.
My plant seems healthy, she was a slow starter but im sure I can see pistils emerging from the upper nodes....Really needs to be transplanted asap!

If you see the picture closely you might be able to see the leaves darken a bit. At first I thought it was a mg deficiency, but now im starting to think that it might be a nitrogen overdose. Gave it some mg using a dilute solution (spray). The soil is just a starter mix. 3 parts peat 1 part compost and 20 percent perlite. Not even epsom!

Im seeing new growth everyday and it seems like its healthy. Is this normal? I just dont want it to turn into a disaster at a later stage...

Cheers.

Welcome Green. I am a fairly new grower myself, but your plant looks fine.
I did have some nitro toxicity with my first grow, and it was much greener than yours. Also typically, with nitro toxicity the tips of the leaves 'claw' down.

I would gently transplant it asap though. I didn't with my first auto, and it really stunted her due to the short life cycle of autos. Now I transplant the very day they shows pistils, and it makes a huge difference in overall size and yield.

I hope that helps.
You should go introduce yourself in the intro section and place a link to your grow journal here.

Happy Growing.

Thanks for the input StickMan. Good to know they're fine. Grow journal sounds like a good idea :sly: im going to take some photographs today.

I've heard thats ur supposed to switch to flowering nutes when the plant stops increasing in height!... im not sure about the lights though. When do you put them under flowering lights?
Or is it from the start?

Cheers

Hey and Welcome!
Confused! Is this normal? Well when I read that, I thought confusion is the normal state for me so I guess I would say yes, confusion is normal!
As for your plant, she's a beaut! Looks perfectly normal and healthy. I would like Stick said, get her transplanted ASAP. Be very, very gentle and you'll be fine. I would carefully cut the bottom off and then cut down one side but don't peel the cup off. Place the cup and all in the new hole, and gently remove the cup. I hope you get what I am alluding to.
You are right on the money about the timing on the flowering nutrients. I kept a yardstick in my tent and measured a lot.
The fact that they are auto's means that they are not dependent on the light cycle for flowereing. I use 18/6 others use 20/4 or even 24.
Peace and happy growing!
Here's some :karma Cloud: for you!!

Great post! @ wwwillie
The reason for the late transplant was that I wasn't sure about how to go about doing it without damaging the roots...
Transplanted her two days ago and she seems to be doing ok. Some snaps I took just now, and ofcourse a picture of the roots.
She is just at day 33 from seed. I do hope it gains a few inches in the next 2 weeks. :what:
I wonder when I should move her under 2700k lights?

The tiny one in the group photo at the end is a auto white widow from Dinafem.

Cheers

Well done Pal, they look sound! You may find they slow their growth a bit while they push out more roots now that they have been transplanted but they will soon romp along nicely. Hold off the light change and bloom nutes until you see buds appear.
Don't over water and sing to them thrice daily.
Good luck pal, eP.

Very resource links @wtf. Thanks! Here's the update and some pictures....

The Superbud at day 38 from seed has picked up pace after the transplant. I can now tell its gained height and preflowering. I do hope it gains a few more inches lol ... greedy!

Transplanted the ww x sweet tooth last week. The plant was drooping and the leaves were curling due to over watering. I let it sit for a week and it didntn improve at all. It had to be transplanted in that state because it just wasnt showing any improvement. Im guess the roots got fresh O2 that might have helped. Its taken a week for it to start looking healthier, but yes its not back to normal. The new growth towards the the top feels and looks very dry and wrinkly! The medium is almost dry after the transplant(I would say 5 percent moisture in soil) going to feed it today

The white widow from dinafem is a trooper ! Going good at day 25. Small though, but I see its gaining height after the nutes.

Going to intro some side lighting for the superbud and the ww x sweet tooth. These plants are sooo dense with leaves hidden under the main fan leaves. Maybe it makes a difference.

Cheers.

Lookin' good brother, plant looks healthy - just follow the basics for autos and you can usually get a good haul. Don't overwater, don't overfeed and use plenty of light. I've experienced the deep green colors myself in the past with LED grows and autos, doesn't happen to my photos as often but the autos seem to love LEDs.

Look forward to the updates and great work so far!
