Grow Mediums Considering DWC First Grow

No mate i use sm90 but from what i gather it and hydroguard do the same job.
Give dwc a go its easy enough- you do need extra space though!
Ya that's what I had heard as well.

Any recommendations when it comes to nutrients?

Just in case I have any issues feeding, I think it would be easier if I used something you guys are more familiar with

Ive only ever used general hydroponics flora series buddy. My advice is find a journal/grower with good results and copy them

@sanguine @witchyhour @dcat0921 and others ...

How's about pH up and downs with DWC (airstone, airpump)? Can I use "normal" Sensi bloom (pH perfect) and still get pH fluctations? Is there "hydro" Sensi bloom?
Tent temp is 22-27°C, is this problem with DWC (hot/cold water)?
Can I use tap water in DWC (0.5 EC)?

@KonopCh hey mate i think the sensi grow and bloom are actually meant for hydro not soil but they work well in it.
The ph perfect does work for some growers in hydro but i think it really depends on your tap water and at 0.5ec tap you will proably need to adjust ph.

Tent temps at 22-27 is fine- but that doesnt really tell you what your res temp will be.
Get a ph or ec pen that has a water temp sensor built in. Ideally you want to keep water temps at 18-20oc but its damm near impossible without a res chiller and theyre expensive. So buy sm90 or hydroguard- these will keep your water healthy even at higher temps- i wouldnt even attempt a dec grow without sm90- but thats just me!

You can grow dwc with high ec tap water but can you find out whats in your water thats making it so high?

Thank you @sanguine! What makes temp water rise? Air stone?

I think we have hard water... calcium. Because if I evaporate water, I can see white "stones".

Well the general temperature rise is what makes your water temps rise i just mean that because the temps good doesnt mean the water is kinda thing! You can use reflective material and or insulation to help bucket res temps.

Yea i have moderately hard water too- just take that into account when feeding.
And for some reason i still need to use loads of cal mag.
The calcium in my water source may not be easily available to my plants- just a thought

:2cents: Skunkwerks Rx all in one - it is 4-3-5. and it's funking fantastic ! There customer service rocks and they have it for soft or hard water. It's won quite a few awards and it it super easy to work with ! If you get yourself a bottle of that (the first bottle is free and $20 USD a liter after that, just contact them and ask for a sample- it will be to your door in a day or two) and some pH down, a Blue lab pH meter, and you'll be in great shape ! A few tips, my grow hasn't dipped below 85F very often and my roots are white and healthy, the more air you pump in - the harder it is for your water to gunk up and the bigger your plant will be.
No matter what you use to feed, your pH is going to rise as your plant consumes nutes. As far as I know, this is unavoidable The more I grow, the more I find that less is more and to keep it simple. You can freeze water bottles to add to your res, and I like to use diluted hydrogen peroxide to disinfect and sanitize anything and everything in and around my plants, it works fantastic ! Hopefully something in this pile of words can be useful to you, and questions ask away, best wishes :2cents:
