I'd go with a 2-3 gallon pot for 1 meter plants.

perhaps a clear plastic might bebeterr... because you'll want drain holes in the bottom... so when you water you can achieve 10% runoff. :toke:

I was reading one of cres's grows, and he uses 20 gallon tubs with no holes. Anyone know how that works?

20 gallon pot is cool coz inside soil is wet and outside soil dry meaning always good air for roots is my guess assuming they are strategically watered in the middle

watering is almost nill in a 20 gallon tote... ask cres.... over 30 days and he only used a cup... and only cuz it felt wrong not waterting for so long.
I experienced same this summer... in fact the few rains we had actually overwatered these and they wouldnt dry out... so if using indoor... fantastic... could go on a vacation for a month and now orries...

but outside... you'd best protect them from taking on rainwater... or you'll take losses. (BTW they had lots of drain holes)

hi all i also like growing in totes just for that reason it is less physical watering and less to worry about really its great just question i have tried to get answered befor but no luck really k here goes well i tend to grow in just about anything around the house from storage bins large to small and also use pots but my question is this does depth matter ova width for root systems meaning say i have a round pot thats a 4liter pot and lets say the height of that pot is 2 1/2 feet and the diamter is say 1 1/2 feet ( not accrute numbers just using for example) now say i have another pot that is like a storage bin and it also can hold 4liters but the dimensions r that it is shorter but its bigger width and length wise so basicly its shallower but a lot bigger in width and length do root system like deepness or do they like shallow depth but bigger width or length or combo of all things im sry if im being very confusing but hard to explain wat i want to ask lol

deeper pot/ taller plant typically.... they will take all the root space you give them... some varieties are larger than others tho... obviously this applies as well. :toke:

If growing under light indoor, keep in mind the distance from the light is a huge factor:

I got the 20 gallon tubs today and also I am at week 2 for the super soil mix. How much of the super soil shoud I put in the tub? Bottom 1/3 ? I will be putting 4 autos in each tub, 4 tubs makes 16. These are under a 1000 hid in a 4 x 4 room. Little to none on the watering huh? I like the sound of that.
