New Grower CoTC Cash Crop Vipar LED's in a small tent :)

Now that's a beautiful looking plant you got there Mr. Baggins! My first grow I just MH/HPS but now i'm on LED and lovin' it! Right now I only got one ms0006 for my 6 autos but I'm gonna spring for a new one and your Vipars seems pretty dang nice.

I'm waiting for the new GN panel to arrive but I just might pick up a Vipar led before that and give it a go since I need another light pretty soon...

Keep up the kick ass work!!

Thanks bro, the Vipars are doing ok I think! You're thinking along the same lines as me getting as many panels in there as you can! :)

7 weeks today, feels like it's crossed with a triffid and getting unicorn shit nutes lol!

Looking great. I wouldn't stress yourself too much about the res temps changing the amount they are. Biggest difference is that oxygen is absorbed more efficiently at a certain temperature, like 22C-23C or something, but other than that I wouldnt say ur in any sorta danger of harming your plants.

Looking real good man, i'm assuming you've grown few times before? Nice idea with the net scrog, should do you some good. Done any sort of lolipopping, or pruning lower down?

I got worried when the res dropped to 17c, I set the whole grow up for summer, took the heater out, put tank on blocks to improve airflow etc. and it worked too well lol.

This is my third grow, one successful scrog grow of 2 autos and one crap crow with someone else's truly awful photo clones. I'm back to autos for good but since I've got the opposite of green thumbs I trust in science to figure out wtf I'm doing and keep my fingers crossed the plant knows what she is doing :)

Small tent so I crop like a goat, grows are slower but that's life. I keep a good 3" of clear airflow between the tank and the plant which doesn't take a lot at this stage since I've finally persuaded her to stop bushing downwards to the reflective silver on the tank!

Laughed my ass off!

I would very much like to see a triffid cross =) and some unicorn excrement for that matter lol!

So do you let your roots grow into the res? I noticed in an earlier post you said you were I think. I currently tuck mine back on to the tray, not sure if you need to or not, I just find helps me with the res changes.

Out of curiosity, how do you change your res? Currently I take the tray with my plants out of the tent completely, rinse the tub down and clean with a sponge, then just use hose water to refill it. I know i should let it sit for a day to let chlorine evaporate, but I think we have very good water in my area and comes out with PPM of about 100 or less and never had any problems.

One of the reasons I didnt scrog this time round, was because I wasnt sure how to leave the tray with the plants in the tent and still be able to take out the res tank when full (heavy as hell). One idea I had was to put the res tank on some pot holders with wheels to be able to easily roll it around the tent, and have some sort of slightly raised support that you can attach the tray to, so that you can simply roll the res tank towards you and easily take out once you've raised the tray on to the support.

Maybe i'm thinking into this too much and others have a better idea..?

Once the grow starts the spotless tank stays where it is until harvest so I let the roots grow into the tank res, I love to see them and they are easy enough to keep clear of the pump. It's handy for checking their health too :)

I keep the tank topped up but there's never much more than 14litres in there. By this stage she's drinking about 3 to 4 litres a day so the morning before the weekly change I let her run down to the top of the water pump and then it's easy enough to just attach a bit of tube to the pump and drain it into a wash basin then sponge the rest out.

I tend to be lean with the nutes so if I'm getting salts build up in the tank I'm giving her too much but I've had the added bonus this grow that the tupperware container with holes in it I use to stop the ice bottles or ph'd cubes toughing the roots is the only thing getting crystal forming on it instead of the tank :)
I've got more rigging in there now than the average tall ship so even if the tank tray wasn't firmly attached to the res it would be a royal pain in the arse to get it out.
Most of the chlorine, up to 90% depending on your tap head, is lost when it comes out of the tap and where I live there's no chloramine used so it's not a major concern adding it straight to the tank once it's ph'd. The out of tap ppm here is 301, calmag is already in it when I get it , just not enough!

Great grow Bilbo, she is looking huge. Im going to sub up if you dont mind man.

Day 53

Added a couple of smaller E27 ES CFL's instead of the big one, didn't like temp hitting 28.5c! Loving the cider vinegar to cycle the ph quicker and she seems to like it a lot :)

Do cfls really bring up your temps by that much? or is it partially due to the led too?
