Live Stoner Chat Covers vs Originals - Post the music here ..

Great thread steely for all of us music lovers!

Looks like many on here are Hendrix lovers. In case some of you here have never heard of Frank Marino , you may want to check him out. He never really made it commercial, because he has never cared out about it. Many said when he first started putting out music in the midish 70's that he was channeling Jimi's spirit. I got to see him in SF in 79, one of the most incredible, and under rated guitar players of our time IMHO. Anyway hope you enjoy!

By the way Captain, I agree concerning Johnny's cover of Hurt. Thanks for sharing!

Peace!

Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush were probably the greatest, underground group ever! The never made the " big time" but the were legendary just the same. I've had the pleasure of seeing them live.

And as much as I'm a HUGE Hendrix fan, he's the second greatest guitar player ever. The best???............ Roy Clark! That man could play! and he could play any instrument you put in his hands. I saw him pick up a violin and play a classical piece that made me weep.

The ultimate version of "I Shall Be Released" was done in The Big House! 2004 by Scottie n me in front of a crowd of hard nut cons n life'ers. Singing and playing for real. No tapes exist of said concert but we were both subsequently released in due course. So, we weren't too bad!
Great song! All the more pertinent if inside! eP.
