Hey guys,
Just got finished reading Croakersoaker's thread about his spidermite problem. It doesn't seem like I'm at that point yet for them to invade, but I was wondering if there were a way to prevent them. If so, what is that way. Is it like a treatment, or could I add something to the soil now to avoid the stress.

I understood when I got started that this wasn't going to be a easy process, so I'm ready for the pain and gain.

They destroyed my first grown and after experimentation in the greenhouse I hereby report:

1) Hydrogen peroxide kills larvae in the soil
2) Pyrethrum kills larvae and gnats fast and super safe for soil and plant so bung it in your sprayer, again good for spraying surrounds to
3) Citronella spray keeps away many of them
4) Neem kills and keeps them at bay

combine all 4 simple basic remedies and bang gnats are a thing of the past

If you've been in your garden tending you roses & veggies etc change your clothes before you tend your indoor garden.

You can also have a shower to go the extra yard.

Keep pets such as cats and dogs out of your grow room as they can bring them in as well.

These are precautionary measures but prevention is better than cure.

Bringing in Christmas trees can also bring pests in doors, this is often over looked.

when i had a photo grow few years ago 7 i had crazy aphids . i ended up buying chilled lady bugs to fix the issue but it was so bad the aphids were leaving sap on my stems then the ants waned to come in to eat that! An old hippy grower ask me if i was waring my shoes and after taking them off and the ladies bugs it was all fixed but they hurt my clones! about 50 larger clones !
