Hi Folks
I am on my first auto grow, I have 4 Sweet Seeds, Dark Devils, excellent plants and now in full flower and herein lies my query, normally at this time on a photo strain I would start removing shade leaves daily to get more light on the buds.
However from bits of information I have gleaned from this forum I get the impression removing shade leaves from an auto could have bad effects on the plant, possibly shocking them into stopping growing or producing flowers.
Is this a fact or just a possibility ?
Does anyone routinely remove shade leaves ?
I would really appreciate any advice on this, I really want to get rid of more leaves to get that SonT blazing on my thick sticky yummy buds.
Cheers guys & gals.
D'oh ! Also meant to say, at present I am tucking as many leaves away as I can but its just not enough, hence my need to cut them off instead of tucking them.

I am about ready to chop my DD.I also tuck leaves to expose the buds but when tucking won,t work I remove any large leaves that are covering the buds.I just don't doit all at once and do a few every day so not to shock the plant. This has worked for me on several grows.

im not aware of any leaves on cannabis being named shade leaves

but if you infact mean a leaf that causes shade i wouldnt worry , 85% of the light hitting a leaf goes through it , we just dont see it because it is not "visable" light to humans

meaning the plant does not see the ammount of shade we see , not even close

keep your leaves , tuck if anything

peace

:D:Shade leaves are the single smaller leaves that grow out of the colas. :smokebuds:

A colloquialism perhaps ? I have always known them as shade leaves, sugar leaves/shade leaves.
Tomatoe/tomato.
Namvet 25, thanks buddy, thats the news I was wanting to hear, with photo strains I only removed maybe a half dozen at most in a day so I will do the same thing here.
Thanks for your help guys.
