Honestly because they don't care if your plants die. That is why I built my own. No surprises, I did my best to keep out the light. That's another thing the insulation stops is the light to my buckets

Yes, but how can a company build something like that? Its like one of the main things that you think of when putting a system together... a total fail. This system just lost another star in ratings...

Shit I would give them none that's a major player fuck up. Big business don't give a shit. They just wanted it to look cool instead of being a functional good product

Ok been kicking my ass but I bleached my whole dam system!!! Ran her for about twenty minutes full blast full of bleach and then drained it. Then cleaned everything with peroxide. Getting ready to fill her back up. Got some sm90 and some root generator and some other shit. Be back bout to fill her up

Well she's up and running and hopefully no more bullshit with the roots. There was more in it than I expected. The buckets were slimed and dirty the air lines even had alot on them. So I think every week ill wipe down the lines inside just cause . I did pick up some drip clean from house and garden today also. And some other stuff for the outside grow. Got a Lil bit of overdrive for flower. Ive got to much shit now lol. But im done making stupid mistakes . I forget one thing and the whole grow could've died I would have been so pissed.

Had a couple people ask why I use lava rock. Its better all around. No ph shift from lava rock. No algae in the rocks because it dries faster. And the roots actually breach the rocks for water. See the rocks attached lol

lookin good so far guys.
couple wee things ive noticed.
the plastic can let some light shine through, as long as its food grade plastic or better theres nothing dangerous gets through. just incase though, i covered the top of mine with silver duct tape.
also, whatever medium you use to start it in only has a ph shift if you dont clean it properly.
and finally, i think i might have mentioned this already but one of the main perks of hydro is you eliminate a lot of pest risks that come with soil growing so having one soil plant in the middle of a massive water garden is really asking for trouble. not saying it will happen but your chances of infestations would be massively reduced if the soil wasnt there.
oh, and a little bit of gunk at the start has been normal for me but its never persisted. it stopped both times after 2-3 weeks. no idea what causes it or why it goes away tbh but i havent emptied my dwc in about 8 weeks and shes sweet. : )

I have my plant that was in soil, in the spa. She had to go back to the soil so I could keep her alive till I fixed my system
