Sup Ya'll, ladies are 26 days old today, with some great news to report. I don't think I have root rot!!!!
or at least I think. I gave them both a good watering today, about half a gallon between 3 plants. The 3rd plant is an auto-widow/cheese that is 13 days old. Will post some pics of her around day 30 or so. The majority of the water went to Diesels. Last watering was 2 liters, 4 days ago. So the last time I watered 4 days ago, all 3 pots still had a slight smell of rotten eggs/sulfur in the run-off. 4 days ago the smell was way less of a smell than the watering before that. Before the smell stunk out my whole room and bathroom hallway. This time, with 4-5 day dry outs in between and controlled watering, no smell of sulfur/eggs at all in the run-off and the new growth looks healthy and picking up like crazy.
Claudia is starting to grow like crazy, she grew about 3 inches in 5 days. The new growth has some yellow tips from the 1/4 strength nutes, but I think they are ok with just the tips yellowing. Pre-flowers are appearing everywhere. I've been trying to tuck the fan leaves as best I can, wherever and however I can, being that they are still a little small. Let me know how she is looking to you at day 26. Also should I raise the nutes to 1/2 on day 30?
Bonnie unfortunately is growing slowly and the bottom of her has tiny leaves that have been growing extremely slow. I think several factors probably contributed to this. Over-watering probably number 1, possibly the hellish temperatures and conditions she endured her first 4-5 days from sprout. By hellish, I mean temperatures consistent at 100-101 for 18-20 hrs, with 0% air exchange and circulation. I say possibly because, it was very early on and the growth was looking ok, after I corrected the environment. The last thing that slowed down her growth was the full repotting on day 20, although I noticed growth had already slowed down considerably before the repot, compared to her sister. Her bottom leaves were starting to go light green with some completely yellowing. There was new growth after the repot, just very slow. Its now 6 days after the repot, and I think the growth is starting to pick back up. The new growth looks healthy enough, hopefully she picks up this week.
So glad that rotten-egg/sulfur smell is completely gone from both plants and that I'm probably avoided root-rot. I feel like I know how to properly water my plants at least for the first 30 days, as this is my first grow. I may still get a decent first grow harvest from them after all. Thanks for the feedback guys, please let me know what you think.
