Hey guys, my ladies are on day 34 and seem to be recovering well from all the stress. I have some questions. First Claudia is growing like an inch a day and shooting out like crazy. She's at 13 in. now. They got a dose of 1/2 strength nutes 2 days ago and seem to have taken it fine, slight burn. I'm going to water them one more time and give them one more feed of 1/2 strength. So it will be water - 1/2 str. feed - water - increase strength and go from there. I use FF trio. Bonnie's growth has taken off from last week and since receiving the 1/2 strength nutes. I'm thinking she is going to really start growing a lot more this week. She is about 8 1/2 inches. :wiz:

1) How much more growth should I expect out of them during veg. ? Will they have another spurt when she begins to flower?

2) Do I stop veg nutes when I see vertical growth slow/stop? Should I go from 1/2 strength to full strength or 3/4 then full? Full strength or 3/4 strength would be around day 42.

3) On the other plant, Bonnie. I am starting to smell a skunky smell with her, and she is just beginning to barely produce pre-flowers. She is about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks behind due to previous stress. On Claudia I don't smell a thing besides a green leafy smell. Why is that?

Please let me know your opinions and answer the questions if you can. I appreciate the help guys, thanks! :peace:

You definitely need a LOT more light, and a lot less distance from the light source as well. Try to get that done asap so the buds can have time to fill in.

I'm using a 400w HPS and I have always had the light between 12-18 inches, I just measured its around 10 inches, maybe a little less

Throw a few CFLS in for side lighting and move your light closer, might be the phenos, just a big plant no matter what, might be pre programmed to be tall, wishing you good karma, peace out, BARNSIE

1) Expect vertical growth to continue to about day 50 depending on strain and environmental variables. Then she'll fill out her buds, after that the buds fatten up in the remaining weeks.
2) You should follow a specific feed schedule, whether the FF schedule or a veteran members. Using the FF schedule, Grow Big is phased out during flower, but is still used in week 7 & 8 for some N boost i guess: http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/frontpage/feeding-schedules.html
3) Smells can be signs of stress, but is also normal during the course of the grow. My last grow smelled like skunk one week, blueberries the next week, and then cat piss for 2 more weeks! Turns out this was a good thing but I was worried for a bit.

I'm not sure what stress you experienced up to now, but those girls are looking healthy but stunted. How much water are you feeding and how often? They will drink faster over the next couple of weeks but since they are small you want to be careful not to drown them. And of course, what's your PH?

Do you have a grow journal going?

Thx for the reply Nomis. The main stress they experienced was over-watering, I had to let them dryout for a good 7 days. Bonnie had to be completely repotted about 9 days ago. They also suffered stress due to my temps being at 100 for days 1-5 for at least 18 hrs a day. Bonnie looks to have recovered completely. I am in 9.5L pots and water every 3rd day about 3/4 to 1L each. My area is very dry, humidity 27-40%, mostly 30%. Temps range from 77-88. Mostly staying at 81-82 degrees. 24/0 light. PH is set at 7 before I add nutes. I'm thinking about starting a journal for the rest of the grow.

3 days sounds about right as far as watering goes, especially if they are in their growth spurt. It's generally advisable to water till you get about 10% runoff, and then also test that runoff PH level to make sure it's not too low, though some guys don't bother with this. Seems you've done a good job getting them healthy again, good luck with the rest of the grow.
