Extraction Decarbing temp for rosin

the graph that we all reference,i read the article its from and im pretty sure (memory never was good) but the sample they used was an extract, bho perhaps
so in theory the decarb temps and times are more accurate for an extract or sorts than for a bud.maybemaybe the same no different.
hashers estimate that by weight trichs are 10-15% of the buds total weight.
theories, estimates, practice are 12 different things :nono:
:pighug:

you got 10 grams of rosin? Nice. That would be a lot of pressing. I keep making a couple of grams at a time but I'm giving it away as fast as I can make it!

@Mañ'O'Green gave me the math for rosin doses. This is for chocolate but the same logic applies. And yes decarb is the same. I put mine in a beaker and on top of the heated plate for precision heating. Works great as per @Mañ'O'Green recommended.

~10 mg of rosin THC. is a good starting point. Here is the formula: Grams of Rosin x 700 (average mg of cannabinoids in 1 g. of rosin) divided by the number of pieces of chocolate in your mold = # mg. of cannabinoids per piece. Example: 1 g = 700 / 25 = 28 mg. per piece. So in this example you would start with about 1/3 piece.

I am pretty sure you can use the above math. with 10g of rosin you'll have 7000 mg. a good dose is 10mg so you will have 700 doses with your 10 grams. So if you like doing a teaspoon of coconut edible you'll want 700 teaspoons of coconut with the 10 grams of rosin. That seems like a lot of coconut oil. Maybe reduce it by half and just eat half a teaspoon per dose.

Here is 1.5g of rosin with 1.5g of cocoa butter in the beaker on the heated plate doing the decarb.

Decarboxlyation is a chemical reaction that doesn't care whether the the thc is in flower or concentrate.
Decarb the same as always.
Actually there is large difference in the terpene/flavor profile of decarbed flower vs. decarbed rosin. Decarbed flower loses lots of terpenes and gets a toasty flavor. Decarbed rosin on the other hand retains more terpenes and a lot of flavor similar to the flower.

I didn't press the 10g yet lol. I have like a few different strains presses right now but only like 2g pressed. Was gonna put this in with like 3 cups coconut oil in my mbm. Thought this would be better tasting, and less mess to clean in the end.

So could I put a silicone container on my heat plate at 250 for 30mins and decarb it? That way that would be perfect way to control temp.

These little beakers are inexpensive and work great to decarb in. I usually match the rosin weight with cocoa butter or coconut oil. One caveat is that handling rosin is a sticky business; these little beakers can easily stick to your fingers when you think you are letting go and spill the medicine. Yep I learned that the hard way. Make sure your headspace is 3 times the volume you are decarbing; some rosin gets foamy when the decarb gets under way.
