Lighting Decisions.. why pay more for LED?

I talked with Jeremy at gn yesterday, I said..... guy's! guy's! guy's! your missing out on a huge chunk of business, not having a 120volt light yet:dunno: 23 medical state's four legal recreational state's wow!:jaw: I asked for a timeframe on the us model:dunno:he could not give me one:no: everyone in the usa want's to hop on the money bandwagon, grower's, shop's,
investor's, but with the tax's they are tacking on, it's keeping the blackmarket alive, and I think john Q cannabis smoker will start to grow there own:peace:

Great point all us Americans can do is wait! I think they would see a up in sales if they made a 120v unit but you know companies can only move so fast.

Not necessarily true. You can pick up transformers for $25 that will convert to 230VAC just about anywhere in the US. If someone wants one of the lights, an extra $30 for the transformer will allow you to run it Stateside. Just a quick search, I found this one below. A semi-skilled electrician can build one cheaper than that if you know any.

I used to inhabit New Jersey for awhile, and arriving with a container load of old world electric gubbling thingamajigs, I frequented the local Radio Shack(soon no more apparently) to aquire mentioned inverters..... But..... A few weeks later I learned that it had been a fools errant..... Almost all dwellings in NJ has 220v, if I recall correctly, it is called technical current (what is the equivalent of 380v in the old world)......this revelation from a local electrician, who instantly agreed to run a couple of cables appropriately from the main fuse box..... After that all my thingamajigs were rocking without any inverters..... Dunno if the same is the case in other countries in the not so United States.... I mean, just look at the botanical differences and right to carry concealed firearms in public....let alone use them with intended effect.. Check it out!

my statement was based on energy consumption. And I'm not being critical really, just making the point that these lights are way beyond the means of the average person, and saying they'll "save money" in the long run is false. Based on price disparity, it wouls take me, at the rate/kwh I pay, compared to a unit consuming 150 actual watts. it would take 8 - 10 years to even reach parity

I don't mean to wind you up bro we are good friends but your statement is false in my opinion too because it's bassed on guessing the HS1 is equivocal to a 150w, are opinions are both based on guesses and different so let's just have a cuddle and agree to disagree.

There will be a lot of debates like this from next month when we have competing LED vendors and new (and existing) members will want to know what's best to buy.

Next month..... What is that about..... Spill the beanies MO TaNg.... And of course you are right..... It all harks back to the wild West state of affairs with LED's without any proper documentation, ref above, leaving every Tom, Dick and Harry to peddle......!

About the next month thing,TaNg might be talking about the new Sun series light that Mars Hydro is coming out with. They have a 200x3 watt they're selling 50 units for 450USD right now. To clarify, I thought he meant because new products will be out there by different vendors next month there will be more discussions. I didn't mean to suggest anyone had an opinion one way or another. Sorry if anyone took that the wrong way.

I know very little about the Sun series bro my opinion is really based on using GNs current and previous generation lights and results I've seen on here and other forums.

Hey, no problem! And it was meant to be a numbers comparison, not an actual head to head

I was referring to the statement about next month and competing vendors.
