So I'm thinking, Nick some mud from the pot, rinse it in the water, dry it then test it. Apart from I'm colour blind...

ONLY JOKING! [emoji38] I can see properly which is a surprise given my massive right arm..

Anyhoo, I digress...

Here's the only NPK info available on the bottles.. Mine have no info on them, I had to go to a grow shop in London and photograph the bottles.. It's all chemical formulas tho so I dunno if it'll make sense to anyone..

Gonna dig the mud out when my boy's in bed and take it from there.. Life is waaaay to busy for defs ATM!

The soil testing kit is accurate to half a pH either way but I'll have to do it in daylight.

Many thanks to you Ganja Gods... [emoji111]️

Maybe im misunderstanding how you are going to do this, are you going to just scoop some dirt out of the bucket to test pH ?

Unless you get the dirt from down at the root ball I'm not sure you will get accurate results by just taking some dirt out from near the top to test it.

The runoff method in that link is fairly accurate, in fact I would trust that method over an $80 soil meter any day.

If you follow that runoff method you can just use your regular calibrated pH meter.

But as with everything.... YMMV

I was thinking more.. stick my hand down the side of the bag and grab a bit.. I'll see what happens later.. Gonna read the link again.. [emoji848]

That's what it sounded like.... but you don't need to do that.

Just follow that link info and test the final runoff with your normal pH tester.

Soil pH meters are fairly inaccurate, the $80 one that everyone likes is entry level for one that even works at all.

To get a good accurate soil pH meter you have to spend at least $200 and they go on up from there.

The runoff method is fine as long as your normal pH meter is calibrated.

Okie dokey mate.. I'll have a go later.. Sounds messy tho! Best get some buckets and stuff cleaned.. [emoji52]

You have any 7.0 buffer to check calibration ?

What kind of PPM range you been running ?

Yes mate, I've got buffer 7, I calibrated the meter at the start of this grow.. But will do it again..

Excuse my ignorance... WHAT IS PPM!? (I've only been on UK based forums up til now so haven't come across this one before..

Is it like EC? As in testing what nutrients go in and come out? If so, I've never tested any runoff ever in me whole growing career!

She's been fed 2ml per litre of A&B bloom(max dose is 3ml), 0.5 to 1ml of Explode (bud accelerator- max dose is 1.5ml) and 0.5ml of cal-mag.

Multi Total is a once every two week soil supplement @ 1ml/L, she had this a couple of days ago.

Sucking up 2L a day.. [emoji848]

Gonna chuck some water at her in a mo..

here you go dude ppm or ec

mine are being fed 700 ppm or 1.4 ec

I thought it was the same thing bud, I've never felt the need for that in soil.. That's the whole point of growing in mud isn't it?

Never had any real probs until now.. I blame this forum, bringing me bad luck.. My first 6 plants died age 4 weeks and now this! [emoji23][emoji111]️

There is benifits to mud, and drawbacks with mud.

I started with mud from the backyard, then progressed to store bought mud, then progressed to mixing my own mud recipe.

The pro mix grow I'm doing now to show noobs what not to do is my first non mud grow.

One problem with mud is exactly what is happening to you now. It's also why I said you are probably looking at a flush.

Been there, done that, didn't get a shirt..... :smoking:

With pH meters I usually check and adjust calibration after about every 2 or 3 uses. I've found that after 3 mine is usually off a few tenths.
