Def assistance pleeeeeaaase! [emoji2]

There is benifits to mud, and drawbacks with mud.

I started with mud from the backyard, then progressed to store bought mud, then progressed to mixing my own mud recipe.

The pro mix grow I'm doing now to show noobs what not to do is my first non mud grow.

One problem with mud is exactly what is happening to you now. It's also why I said you are probably looking at a flush.

Been there, done that, didn't get a shirt..... :smoking:

With pH meters I usually check and adjust calibration after about every 2 or 3 uses. I've found that after 3 mine is usually off a few tenths.

:pass:

These ones are very reliable HM, they only wander about 0.1 per grow..

Anyhoo...

Gonna drench the pot, walk the dogs and test in an hour. [emoji2]

Gonna pH the water to 7 tho..

Ok, we're making progress.. Good shout @Waira , after changing the batteries in my pH pen, our tap water has mysteriously changed from 8.0 to 7.1...

And I just did this soil test for the sake of it..

I paid good money for that, I'll damn well use it! [emoji38]

Xcuse dirty hands, just had a nasty pen leak in me pocket! [emoji31]

Anyhoo.. Proper results soon...

Right.. Because of that^ I took the initiative and used tap water (dunno if I should or not, makes sense to me tho..)

It went in @ 7.1 and came out @ 7.3.

So if this is right, I make that soil pH of 7.5 which sounds ok ish to me.. TBH I'm not sure what it should be cos I've never needed to know..

Looks like we can blame it all on the batteries.. I've been watering @pH 5.3 without knowing it! [emoji15]

The only reason I had those spare batteries is cos my son's talking George Pig doll started jibbering more than normal so I bought a load.. Big shout to George! [emoji200]

Soooo... Do I have to flush them all? And what to feed?

All info gratefully accepted,

Vlad.

No, because you won't get an accurate result once you saturated with tap water.

Ok, choice is yours or wait to hear from someone else.... BUT

if those were mine I would flush them like I hinted at in a few posts, then run a light feed mix through as the final.

And if they were mine and I had done this I would then get rid of the dead and dying leaves and go back to my normal routine.

Except I would check my pH calibration regularly as you can catch problems there before they become problems elsewhere.

YMMV

PS: if you do decide to flush make sure you run enough through this time so you don't have to do it again....

Aiiight! [emoji38]

Can't flush em til Sunday tho...

Thanks for your help buddy.. [emoji1420]< that's the fist of respect! [emoji38]

I do keep the pen calibrated, it seems it's very consistent in it's dodgy readings when the batteries are low!

Thanks again dood.. [emoji111]️
