Hey AFN! As always, loving the forum!
Was wondering if anyone could help me identify whats going on with my auto fem DR?

She is about 26 days old. All perlite hempy grow. She is under 250W total CFL's. On the 2nd week I started her with some nutes. I'm using the Technaflora recipe for success kit for nutes. I started at about half strength from what was recommended to see how she responded. All my water is PH'd to 5.8 and my cab has a constant temp of 78-80 degrees F.

This setup has worked beautifully for me in the past. I know every plant is different. This is my first time growing DR's.

The first pic is the DR and the second pic is both my girls. My other girl is a Pakistan ryder that is doing really well with no signs of any distress or deficiencies.

Can anyone tell me whats going on with the DR. Thanks!:lol::lol:

Looks like you have a fan blowing on each plant constantly? Whats your humidity? Looks like you got yourself a high Vapor Pressure Deficit, meaning you are sucking too much water too fast from the leaves resulting in little pockets of nutrients burning those sections of the leaves that the water gets sucked out of. I did some research on the technaflora recipie, as long as you are sticking with that its a pretty good balance of nutes, except a little low on molybdenum but nothing that could cause this. Attached are some example pics of high VPD.
How you can combat it:
1. Get a good supplemental silica nute and add that shit full strength. Silica is the magic wizard element and helps build up cell walls in leaves reducing moisture loss by up to 50%. It also does other magical things that are outside the scope of your problem.
2. Increase humidity.
3. Set the fan on a timer, or oscillate that bitch if you aren't already. They don't need fans blowing on them 24/7.

Also, try lowering nutes a little bit. 250 watts of CFL you could probably safely go 1/4 strength. When humidity is low, or more water is being "sucked" from el planto, the nutrients get a "free ride," so more get sucked in. If you say "hey only one of my plants has this problem, so its not humidity," genetics plays a huge role in how the plants respond to stressors. So much so that one plant can be 20 times more effective at handling low humidity then another, even among the same strain, even among the same seed batch.

Another possibility, with all that sugar shit you are adding you could have a shit ton of bacteria sucking down all the nutrients and leaving not enough for the plants. Also, the plants send sugars and carbs it makes from the leaves to the roots to feed those greedy bastards. If you create a perfect environment for them and stress the plant, they will turn from helpful to hitler real fast. I don't use bacteria for that reason, and try to kill any bacteria in my reservoir every chance I get. Anyway, I hope I've provided somewhere for you to start.

Shit, almost forgot. Plants use light to make sugars. There are some people who say plant's roots cannot absorb sugar, well they are most definitely wrong. If you feed a plant too much sugar, its gets lazy. If you give them enough sugar, they start shutting down photosynthesis and start self destructing chlorophyll molecules, bleaching them white. Although I doubt that is your problem, it could be apart of it.

could be nute splash

Wow psykadelix that is an awesome diagnosis! thanks so much.

I think you are absolutely right. I do have both of those fans blowing directly on the plants 24/7. I do that to try an keep the temp down. I never try to let it go above 80F. The humidity constantly hovers around 50-55%. I've now set both fans on a timer. Unfortunately they don't oscillate. It's been like this for the past 2 days now and I think I'm starting to see an improvement. The leaves aren't as droopy and seem more lively. The problem spots still remain as I'm sure they won't go away but new growth seems healthy. I'll research a supplemental silica nute and try that out as well. Do you recommend one from experience?

At any rate in a few days I post back with the progress. Hopefully these girls will push through. I'm sure they've been stunted somewhat but I'm staying optimistic. Thanks again.

Dang! Im getting no love. Anyone have some insight? Thanks.

Just alittle headsup you can also ask these type help questions in the new grower fourm
sometimes you draw more help..:smoke: Sounds like sound info you got there from psykadelix
i could have use that info on my last grow
