Just had a crazy idea that I was curious about that I thought I'd ask. Please be nice if I betray my ignorance of drivers and electricity in general, lol. :cools:

I have an extra variable speed fan switch that I used to use for my intake fan. It's the kind where you plug the fan into the outlet on the switch and then plug the switch into your power strip. It has a dial so you can adjust the amount of power going to the fan and thereby adjust the speed.

What would happen if I plugged my AutoCOB into this switch and tried to use it as a dimmer? Would it work, potentially ruin the light or just plain not work at all? I'm hesitant to try it for fear of ruining my lovely new light.

This would be handy be able to do this so that I could potentially have more flexibility as far as distance in a 60" tent. When I measured the maximum amount of space between the light and the top of a hydro bucket, I'm left with roughly 40", which would only allow me to grow a plant up to 20" maximum with a COB.

Luckily I already tried it lol. No it won’t work. It’s not dimming the cob it’s actually dimming the driver. But I figured what’s the worst that could happen.

Thanks man! And here I felt like I had stumbled upon some great revelation, lol.
