Lighting DIY 3120 led lumen- opinions

hey guys new to the forum, looking at doing a guerilla this year, just wanting to raise ladies under light through seedling/ early veging stages.

found this DIY led on the internet?

just wanting to know people expeirienced with DIY lighting if

a. how much heat it will produce

b.how many seedlings could be raised under it

new to indoor lighting

Welcome! I had made a little diy led panel for seedlings once, and it's not too difficult to make a small one, but it ends up that it can get expensive quick. For just seedlings, it would be cheaper and easier to get a couple CFL's bulbs or buy a cheap UFO led panel on ebay or something. As much as I hate to admit it lol, because I do love anything DIY.

I agree..gwt yerself a rubber maid tote an install a couple cfl an fan. Perfect for seedlings an stealthy if done properly .

any idea how many lumens i would need to raise say 6 seedlings, i have read plants need a minimum 2500 lumens, so i presume that 6 small seedlings grown to around 3/4ft would thrive? correct me if im wrong

heat is the only issue, raising them in a very small space

You won't need much light for 6 seedlings. A 150w cfl should get them up.

At 3-4 feet, they are no longer seedlings and probably closer to being fully flowering (unless you have skills and a setup like King Ganjamoto or TaNg). For this you'll need quite a lot more light to successfully flower all 6 (and quite a bit of space)

I can fit 1 medium (4feet) and a small one in my 60cmx60cm cab. you may be able to squeeze 6 medium ones in 180x180 but they'll be tight. Some people would thing "great! a room crammed of plants" ... but consider airflow and the increased likelyhood of mold during flowering.

And thus the fan an i neglected to mention the vent the fan goes into....face palm! An blue is of course right a three foot plant is not a seedling. ..like the boss i had who always called me lad.

The bulbs he uses are too expensive and for not much money ( about $85 ) you can get a 180 watt Marshydro UFO style light that works great and has the advantage that you have a wrranty if anything were to go wrong. DIY is great, and sometimes worthwhile. This is not one of those areas. I too built a DIY light I'm still using in a cab, but I would have been better off buying a light. Some projects are just for fun, or they are a waste of time and money, and growing weed costs enough as it is!

IMO, the price of CFLs has gone up so much, they too are a waste of money when you consider that, they are only good for 3-4 months then need to be replaced as they lose about 20% of their output by then.
