This DIY/Idea does not belong to me. It was taken from another forum. I thought it was a great idea.

Original thread: http://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/101248-best-diy-ez-walmart-carbon.html

Items needed:
All could be picked up from walmart

Black duck-tape
Black "Pencil cup"
Smaller black "Pencil cup"
Black ladies socks (pantyhose)
Activated carbon

Poor some carbon in the mesh like "pencil cup"

.... just enough so the smaller cup is level with the larger cup.

Slip the smaller cup into the sock

Tuck the sock into the smaller cup holding the end of the sock. Pore in the carbon.. keep holding the end of the sock.

Now pull on the end of the sock and use your finger to guide the carbon into the space between both cups until filled.

Now pull the end of the sock over the entire filter.. twist the end of the sock at the bottom and pull it up over the end of the cup.

Now simply use duck-tape to place the filter over your exhaust fan. I used a rubber band to secure it..

Great job realcarlos this is a great DIY might have to try this one.:bong:

first of all, looking good!

imo, you have to pulverize the pellets to increase the inner surface to effectively filter out olfactory substances.

to easy :)
sativa_guy,in regards to pulverizing the pellets do you find there is much improvement ?

from what I have read, pulveraizing aint a goood idea, as the "air-pockets" in between the pellets is needed for air-whirling and chemical reaction.
I cant describe good in english, but the "smell particles" need time to fit into the "molecule-holes".
If they pass by to fast, or if they stay to long in one place, their is no optimal use of the filter.

to summarize, dont pulverize, as long as you have no special machine wich is blowing/weaving that dust into cloth. (like the eco filters)

anyway, a very nice tutorial, I sadly just build a filter on my own.
hope it will work as good as yours.

cheers, lb

What size room would you guys recommend this for? i want to make one this sunday so a fast reply would be very great full fellas :Sharing One:

The room in your SIG would be OK by the look of it.

There will be a calculation to work it out involving fan size, room and size of filter.

Or just trial and error, lol

Cheers for the reply Dude :) you dont happen to know the method of calculating this out do you? i'd hate to waste money i dont have on trail and error haha
