After building a DIY carbon filter that I couldn't get enough airflow out of, I decided to build an odor bucket to use until I can afford a fan/carbon filter setup that will move enough air for my cabinet. Took me 15 minutes only using stuff I had around the house.

1. Wire up a PC fan to an adapter. There is plenty of info on the web about how to do it. Basically, red and black wires stripped and connected to an adapter. The one I used is a 9v 200a adapter. I just snipped it and stripped it, plugged it in, and touched the wires together carefully until I found which wire went with which. Twist them together and electrical tape them. Electricity is dangerous! Don't be a dumbass!

2. Figure out what container you want to use. I used the container that my activated carbon came in. It is fairly large, and has a lid. I cut holes on the sides large enough to keep from restricting the pc fan. Don't cut them too high. You want them near where you plan to keep the liquid, or whatever smelly stuff you end up using.

3. Cut a hole in the lid that is about the size of the fan blade. Determine which way the air blows out of the fan, and tape it to the lid. I faced mine upward, drawing air in through the holes, but it will most likely work either way.

4. Fill the container up near the holes with whatever smelly substance you want. I am currently using pine-sol. I filled it with water and put a decent sized shot of the pine-sol in. I will probably end up putting some ONA gel in there when I can get some, but the pine-sol is a pretty overpowering scent for the moment. My girls aren't smelling too badly, but I could definitely smell them in the garage before, and now it just smells like I mopped the garage...

5. Screw on the lid, plug it in, and let it go!

FAIR WARNING!!

This will work best when used in conjunction with a carbon filter. It is a temporary solution for me. But it is working well to mask the smell right now.

Thanks!
Looks pretty good.
I used a 5 gallon bucket and a 120mm fan for mine. I use it the few weeks before harvest when the stink overpowers my other filters.
My garden is in the basement so I keep the bucket at the top of the stairs. The spousal approval factor was high for this project!!

You could pull the extraction into a bag of coal and tie it. The (idk if all) paper bags let the air flow w/o particles of dust.
