DIY DIY 'Soft Box'

Hi just made one of these to make the fan/fans quieter.

So I took some photos along the way.

4" can fan 100mm
Cardboard box bigger than fan/fans
Insulation 32mm
4" 102mm insulated ducting (not needed really, none insulated is fine as the box does the job)
Knife

Line the bottom of the box with the insulation

Draw around the end of the fan and cut out opposite ends of the box, in/out.
I've done 4 cause 2 fans are going in the same box. So 2 side by side on both sides.

Poke the ducting through the hole in the box and insulation then attach to the fan

Just did the same thing! Quiet the fan down pretty good! Nicely done!

Cut a gap for the cable and close. Put more insulation on top if needed.

I can't believe how quite this is.
