I plan to use my soon-to-arrive Autopot system with coco-coir/perlite and Mega Crop.
I think I've read almost all the threads in this section, but haven't been able to answer this myself.

Is a pump absolutely needed in the reservoir if using the Autopots system with Mega Crop? Is any one being able to use this combo without a pump in the reservoir? how about you @lunarman ?

Any input is appreciated.

It's not necessary but it helps to keep the nutes moving around and prevents it all from settling in the bottom of the reservoir... I've got a small 90pm pump in one of mine that I got off eBay for only 7.99.! I recommend getting one so to keep everything circulating... In my other reservoir I don't have one and it can get quite stale and and kind of smelly

It's not necessary at all. What little sediment that settles in the reservoir is easy to rinse out with periodic cleaning. It's just extra complication and heat. Keep the ppm of what's dissolved at the level your plants want and don't worry about the little bit of sediment in the bottom. It's probably just iron carbonates anyway
