I'm a new grower myself, and have been thinking about if indoor grows are prolific everywhere, or if some countries are just too difficult to get set up in, and too draconian should you get caught, to even consider it.
As an example, Japan has a long history of cannabis as a textile, and probably as a psychoactive. Their laws are pretty brutal in modern times, though. I'm sure organized crime syndicates control what cannabis there is on the market (and most of that is probably imported in bricks), but what about personal/family use growers? I can see all sorts of cultural and practical (spatial, if urban) reasons why indoor growing for one's own use would be prohibitive there. It'd be cool to know they're out there, though.
This thread isn't meant to be just about Japan, though--more like any non-western countries where it's especially scary to grow your own.
This isn't a request to incriminate yourselves--you can speak of acquaintances.
