:toke: I have some new plants on the go, and I'm seeing a few yellow leaf tips. I have investigated, as my plants are only 10 days old, and it is due apparently because the soil is too rich. I am using Miracle-Grow general use compost.

Does this drop off, as the plants get older?

Here is the Problem solving table where I found the answer.

I have found, all MG soils, with the exception of the seedling soil, to be way too hot for young autoflowers. Even the MG organic is too hot. I would do a flush, at least 2 times the volume of soil, with PHed water. The hot soil will stunt your plant, and greatly reduce your yield.

A little late now, I feel I have to let things ride, as they are so young. Flushing may kill them as they are only 10 days old. Only a few straddlers have the yellowing. Cheers though

I would flush at 10 days. Just add the water slowly, and let it drain completely. Keep doing that until you have run twice the soil volumes worth of PHd water through them. At 10 days, most autoflowers have a pretty long tap root. How well does your soil drain??

Are you sure its not a PH issue? That is the most common issue with yellowing of seedlings. If your soil is to hot and it is burning them you better dig em out and put them in different soil. Are your ends yellow or brown? Burning usually ends up brown.

Some of the yellow tipsters are actually turning green again. This may be due to their age increasing by only days. Maybe the soil was too hot in the first few days, then they got themselves established a bit more. I have noticed though, that some seedlings grow up, some don't, some grow in height but do not grow leaves out. The last one I expect is that the plant is rooting first. I have also noticed, that smacking them with more light has made the small non growers become active. I have 575 of CFLs in my wardrobe grow cabinet. I do have a few stragglers, that seem to be doing fuck all but getting a little taller. What is your experience with Stragglers.
