Yup it does look both of those, its leave look fairly glaucus (bue-ish grey, silvery) which would make me go towards the wormwood side of things.
Without a good picture hard to tell.

California poppy is a plant. It is the state flower of California. People use the parts that grow above the ground for medicine.

Wormwood is used in some alcoholic beverages. Vermouth, for example, is a wine beverage flavored with extracts of wormwood. Absinthe is another well-known alcoholic beverage made with wormwood. It is an emerald-green alcoholic drink that is prepared from wormwood oil, often along with other dried herbs such as anise and fennel. Absinthe was popularized by famous artists and writers such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Degas, Manet, van Gogh, Picasso, Hemingway, and Oscar Wilde. It is now banned in many countries, including the U.S. But it is still allowed in European Union countries as long as the thujone content is less than 35 mg/kg. Thujone is a potentially poisonous chemical found in wormwood. Distilling wormwood in alcohol increases the thujone concentration.
How does it work?
Wormwood oil contains the chemical thujone, which excites the central nervous system. However, it can also cause seizures and other adverse effects.

Absinthe is not bad but pretty expensive, in Serbia we like to drink Pelinkovac (made from it among other herbs)
and it's the best combo with some beer hehe
Peppers are domestic, nothing fancy
Here you can see I had some assault attempt on my little zen garden in the past
Ruthless bandits
Snails have GPS and Radar, but also sense when you are nearby so they play dumb like "they don't go for your plants"... there was also one case of possible teleportation in Germany, but I need more proof for that lol And they are maybe slow, but munch very fast and much!
I don't like to kill them, instead I launch them over the roof to the neighbours chickens
