Hi Guys hope everyone is well

needed some advice from the pros out there. i had harvested my first plant and it came out beautiful and tasted amazing, i accidentally dried it too quick as i had a fan blowing on them and they turned crispy very quick. so i started curing almost straight away, like after 3 days of drying. in the end the buds still had that crispy feeling but the taste was defiantly there....

Now when i came down to harvest the second plant bearing in mind it was grown exactly the same just 3 weeks apart, i followed my method of the first harvest however this time not putting a fan directly on the hanging buds and i then pulled them out and into jars after 5 days. the buds seem to look fine and i even kept them in an vacuum for two days but this time im getting literally no taste but the smell is kind of now coming through...

I just dont understand what iv done wrong, the trichomes where all cloudy and some amber ( just how i wanted it) and literally done the same as the first...

did i just get lucky the first time?
And why is this harvest not giving me the results i found in the first?
what can i do to bring the taste out of the bud and where have i gone wrong?

Thanks in advance guys
Really do appreciate the help

could be just a "non-tasty" pheno of the strain. The taste could come back after a couple weeks (or longer) cure though. Good Luck

Thanks for that Vapeo, but what do you mean by a pheno of the strain?

Is vacuum necessary.

The smell is coming through, what if taste will come also after some more curing? The first crop was more ready to smoke because it was dried faster, I guess. Maybe your second crop is to wet? Do you control humidity in the jars?

I'm also assuming you grew the same strain, yes?

every plant will smell taste look smoke different etc even the same strain of seeds you may well have been lucky on your first plant the smell and taste will change with a good cure the longer the better i find at least two weeks before i will even sample a plant even more time will be better if you have the patience

Thanks guys
Yes it was the same strain (Auto AK by female seeds)
so basically just keep curing it...
Hopefully the taste will come through
thanks everyone

One question I didn't see asked was if you dry in darkness. So, do you dry in darkness or no? :Sharing One:

I've had loads of plants with ahrdly any smell after drying, until you grind a bud then you smell it.

I dry over 3 to 9 days, in the growbox, with the lights off and the extractor down low so the temps are roughly 20c constant.

Having said that, maybe i'm drying wrong because i keep growing the odd plant that doesn't get me stoned, which is NO fun !

Once you stick them in jars pop the jars open 2 or 3 times a day for 15-30 minutes and keep the jars in the dark and not too warm.
