Harvest & Curing drying temps

Cheers, i thought that 62 was about right in was just checking. I just pulled down the last two, "afghan kush ryder" I have been checking the trichs for the last few weeks but only now are they starting to turn colour. 96 days! I noticed that the "Frosting" on them has diminished in the last week or so, did i leave it too long before harvesting?

Nah, you should be fine. The frostiness would have been the Trichs being milky - they've changed colour, not disappeared

The proof is in the pudding How does she smoke after a dry and cure!
If you want more control over when to harvest, get yourself a magnifier to look at the trichs. 100x will get right in close to see individual trichs, but a 30x jewlers luope is good enough for a "general" overview of trich colour.

Hi steely chuck a couple picks up if you can sounds like you have it just right i wouldn't wait too long.. as long as all the tric's are all cloudy then thats a good sign that the thc is at its peak.. Once the colour changes it starts to diminish i am lead to believe. Hope this helps

Hi all, I have the buds in glass jars the RH is 67. Do i open them for an hour or so every now and then?, what should the RH be when i seal them for a couple of months.

What comes now is simple, you have done the most part of journey.

Do not think in days and hours, RH is important. So, what is RH around where you dry? What temps youve got?
How big is the jar comparing to buds volume? You have dried them quite quick. Is it very dry around?

67 is just fine. keep the jar closed for a day and turn it gently, so that the buds do not stick. After one day, when all moist will come from inner bud area measure again. This will be the right measuring, not a qucik one. Most likely it will be higher as 67. Now everything must be done very slowly and with care.

Two months is not very long storage, in fact, at this time curing has been very well done but not finished yet. If you let it more, then you go a little bit down with RH, and the stuff will only get better.

If you need further help, describe things a little bit more and then it is easier to see what is going on. But you are on the right way.

So, close the jar with meter inside after you have separated buds gently with turning the jar. Leave it closed for 24 hours or so and observe meter. If you see that it is rising to 69, 70%, then some more drying will be necessary but buds do not leave jar any more. Do not overdry it, if you do not know what to do, keep the jar closed and ask. If you will open it too much, you might overdry it, if you keep it closed mostly, if really 67%, there will be no harm in short time.

I wish you good luck but you do not need any. Just some correct moves in next month or two and that is all.

Yeah i thought Afgan Kush Ryder takes 55 days steely, ive got one running at the moment and is a hash strain or whatever so that might account for all the white pistols. I probs wouldn't of let her that long but she should be fine.

The other ones were cropped at 80 days, but these two just lagged behind but ended up being the biggest. I just weighed the buds and i got 115 grams. The RH is 65 so how much weight will i lose in the next month of burping?
