HI,

Thanks I’m new here, so be nice!

I’m a month or so into my first grow and got to thinking about drying. I have one of these that I am not using: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Under-the-Weather-InstaPod-Pop-Up-Tent/776789147

Could I use that as a drying tent? I’m thinking I could get some ducting and a fan, then vent it in to my main tent that has a carbon filter in it to keep the smell down.

You could certainly use that as a "trying" tent. Hot box it. There's already a chair! :)

On a serious note, it would need to be in a dark place as it is customary to dry in darkness and that tent is clear.

Edit: Looked at more pics, it covers up blue. Interesting. There are plenty of grow tents in that price range or less as well.

I agree, there're a ton of actual grow tents for same or less on ebay/Amazon. They would be much better for keeping the drying environment more consistent, and smell within. Plus, then you have another grow tent if you want to grow more. I dry in my tent after grow myself only adds an extra week till next grow. I got a 2'x4'x5' for $60 on Ebay.

He already owns it so it costs nothing. I think it is sexy as hell. Put a rack in there maybe a little fan hang your bud. Adjust the temperature and humidity of the room it is in to 70°F/50% RH and pull the air through it with the exhaust system of the grow. He will want to keep the light down in the room but that is probably minor. Then the pictures of the bud hanging in there could be cool.cools.png

You caught what I missed. He already owns it. In that case, go for it!

My bad thought was going to order lol. I still would not cut that up and destroy that tent. You could get a grow tent for 40 or 50 and would do better job. You start cutting that up and may not connect as easy as you think. Then you have wasted it for $50 I would just get a grow tent but thats me. I would love to see it if you do it tho. Good luck stay lifted.

It's been sitting in my storage shed for years unused. I really don't care if it cannot be used for it's original intended purpose. It's just taking up space.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. This is fun, but a lot to learn...and there are WAY too many things you can do to these plants with all the damn accessories.

There is only one window in that room and I have blackout curtains. There is some light, but not a lot. I'll just throw a tarp over the tent for light blockage.

don't forget the little fan Mañ'O'Green suggested, mold sucks. It's would be awesome pandemic party chair mate.

Thanks Everyone. Here is the tent. I can hopefully harvest within the next week.

I made a little hanging station with a fan and a vent going to my main tent. I painted the windows black and throughly sanitized the tent inside and out.
