I have Sunmaster dual spectrum HPS 400W bulb, I presume this isn't going to do either spectrum as good as an individual bulb would for either red or blue.

Does anyone have any experience using this type of bulb all the way through from seedling to harvest??
If so what are your thoughts?

havnt got 1 mate but a friend of mine has 1 and it looks really good, nice colour of light instead of the usual orange light from my son-t (also 400w) after my current grow i will either get a sunmaster dual spec or if i have an extra few notes ill get a cmh bulb (supposed to kick ass) but your bulb will get you lots o frosty nugs if you look after em

and yeah you can use it from seed to chop. even a normal hps can be used all the way through but yours will be better.

hope i helped:toke:lol

Thankyou for the comments, I must admit from the experience I have had of it and I'm only on day 24 of my first grow without using anything else prior, things look pretty impressive, pistils are shooting everywhere at the moment, I cant say I have any faults to report on using this type of light and have used it from seedling all the way through. Im not sure what improvements I could have gotten from other bulbs at this stage as the plants are doing all the right things and doing them well.
I cant see myself changing to 2 separate bulbs in the future.

There's some folks that use a ceramic metal halide for that reason, better spectrum. It's a huge help and loads of people swear by using a dual spectrum bulb. I'll probably go that route when my bulbs get old that I'm currently running.

Currently using a Sunmaster 250W Dual Spec for 4 plants and they're doing great.

Hey hairy,
I've been using Sunmasters for a year or more now. 250s, 400s and 600s and have found this.
They are great veg bulbs and dont run as hot as MH. So, a Summer bulb for me.
They will give you good buds - but IMO not as good as HPS, so I'm moving back to MH & HPS.
I think you could call them good all rounders but not the best at either veg or bloom.
Sorry if that disappoints but I have found this running 4 tents non stop.
