thanks for the advice...lets say the ph is the reason...will the root rot go away or will new roots just grow in and will this affect my yield?

check res. temps. throw some bottled ice water in there to get the temps down. Hygrozyme? or H2O2 if brown slime mold.

thanks gearbear. I had hygrozyme in there b4 this problem even occurred, so i picked up some Zone by dutch master. res temps stay between 68-78. Will this affect my yield?

maybe a little... depends how quick you get back on track........ H2O2 is definetly a way to kick it out... if using 3% (typical storebought) add about 1/2 cup to 5 gallon resevoir
the h2o2 i have at home is 27% and im afraid to apply it directly ont the roots. I did clean the bucket out with h2o2 and hot water. I was under the assumption the ZONE by dutch master would act in the same way the h2o2 did without damaging the roots.

as well you should be 27% is wayyyy too strong!
add 1 ounce per 11 ounces of water to get a roughly 2-3 % solution.... then use that... not famliliar with "zone"
I use H202 on my ladies roots even in soil whn I have it... increased health and vigor as well as growth rate... btw... you have good aeration in your DWC buckets?

hmm, maybe so? nothing on the DM site that states that it kills off brown slime or root rot, just kinda dances around that's what it does while giving it a buffer to intake the nutrients.

you may want to get the temps down a bit while trying to kill back the rot. and then you can let it go again if you wish. 65ish-70 would be ideal a little under won't hurt ya, I don't think
ok thanks guys! I will try the diluted h2o2 when i get home tonight. I will also be using a frozen water bottle i already have in the freezer for the res. One more question. Am i looking for the brown to go away? Will it go away? Or am i just making sure it subsides and new roots are coming through?
so last night i added fresh water with some h2o2, ph at 5.4 and let the roots soak for a few hours. I then added 1/4 strength nutes and added a frozen water bottle to the res. When i went to check an hour later the bottle had melted and some new root growth was pink! i got really worried at first then realized that the temp change was probably the cause because the color had gone away after about an hour of me freaking out lol. Anyways, checked this morning and i can see some nice strong white roots coming and no apparent slime. Brown color is still there and my plant still looks a bit droopy with 2 leaves that have minor brown spots on them but it hasn't seem to affected any new growth. Hoping this girl perks back up. Thanks for all the help.
