Indoor DWC LED SCROG log

Your pump/tank size is the problem here me thinks.. If there's no light getting in..

For a tank that size I'd be looking for a 120 LPM minimum... Then your plant will.. Monster...

Now two 60L pumps/compressors will do the same/better job than a single 120L..

Fuck it Vick.. I'd go for 2 85L per min pumps in a res that size with 2 stones each... But I tell ya.. It seems nuts for a tent that size.

But your gonna have to give the air a boost brother otherwise.. Your wasting your time.. Good airflow is the one part of the key to successful DWC growing..

:wiz:

The math... as much as I hate it, speaks the truth and you're totally right. It wouldn't be totally wasting my time because I did have and chop some decent buds (salvaged) from my last hydro log which ended up in a tent collapse disaster...Still.. the more oxygen the better and that will help prevent any growth of baddies right?

I'll look into purchasing just one Alita 40 or 60lpm right now to supplement my 25lpm seeing as they are my best, most quiet option running at 39db.. I'll switch it with the tetra whisper 60 and I'll have a total of 65lpm. Should be good enough to finish off this bin grow.

After this grow is done, I'm gonna toss the bin and sell the 25LPM pump, then use the 40lpm pump in one 15L bucket.

How many lpm's did you pump in your bucket? Vira told me he had 30lpm in his 15L solution and his girl is a beast, looking similar to yours.

:buds: Learning more new shit every day. The importance of lpm's just rang a bell and I'm sitting here smacking myself for fucking it up in the first place.

Here's the link for the Alita 40lpm

Mate... Don't be too hard on yourself.. This is how we learn.. with DWC if no-one's standing beside you telling you exactly what to do.. Why your doing it.. & your just going solo.. It's always gonna be difficult..
AFN & info stored on the site is priceless & does help immensely.. Man if you want to see a tragic noob in action check out my first grow log.. 'Help I'm still a noob' Think Different.. Eesh!!

Your plan with the airflow situation sounds good.. :key:

For my AutoBlueberry grow.. My first proper DWC plant I was sharing my 60LPM pump mostly at all times between 2 x 20L pots.. Around 15L of water in those.. But I could never get the air flow balanced with the plastic manifolds.. Even a single 8mm line from the pump then spit & no more than a 1ft length of 8mm going either way to each diffuser resulted in uneven pressure.. So when the BB came down the mazar just got the heap.. Full tilt 60L in a single 20L Bucket + Genesis = BOOM!!
Lol.

Anyways bro.. I really learned all I could from Seymour.. That cat has this shit locked down blindfolded.. That is a DWC legend.. Man I harassed that guy.. Lol.. He's cool. I'll pass on what I can as & when you need it Vick

Peace.

So true. That's exactly why I'm posting up my numbers so that not only I can remember my problems and avoid them, but so other dwc growers can. I'm learning a ton from the community and it would be a shame not to provide every single little detail. It's like writing a report for an instructor to show them what you've learned, so they can pick out your weaknesses and improve on them. We all have potential, it just takes a little elbow grease is all.

I'm gonna go ahead and buy the Alita 40lpm with an 8 tap steel manifold and 1x 3.75" disc. Should be set for this grow and ready with some new stuff for the next log.

Can't thank you and the others that educated you enough. Tons of thanks to the community. If it wasn't for afn and the open minded friendliness (I know this sounds really dull and sappy..) I would be royally FUCKED.

Anyway, the pump setup should look like this.. I can safely shut off 5 valves and use only 3 without blowing up an airstone or causing a geyser of an eruption from built up pressure right? lol :bite:

This slime is really frying my brain. Ph swung way up to 6.2 again in less than 12 hours... After rinsing my roots from the slime and adding 3ml h2o2 this morning, the slime grew back on my roots and covered them. If I leave it for more then a day, it looks like someone hawked up a massive loogie and smeared it all over my roots. Still no slime anywhere else in the res. Just on the roots. The first time I saw the slime, before I cleaned my res out, it was all over my airlines, air stones, pvc and even in my powerhead. This is kicking my ass....

That sucks man, hygrozyme and a few waterbottles pretty much cleared mine up, but it may have been different.

Funny thing is.. The snot like slime didn't start until I added hygrozyme.. But I haven't used it since I sterilized my res. Idk why this shit keeps coming back. It's the fuckin plague.

I dunno.... make a cloner and clone it up. bleach sterilize everything and then go from there?

don't you just love this place! Afn is the shizznit!

Fuck it, I'll be doing the heisenberg bennie tea this weekend to battle the slime for good and to stimulate white root growth. Soaking EVERYTHING in boiling water and bleach for at least 6 hours, then rinsing the slimey roots completely clean under the shower and dunking them in a strong h2o2 solution (10ml 29% per gal) for a few hours to kill off any leftover spores from the bacterial slime.

Gonna fill the res with water, let it run for a few hours for the chlorine to evaporate, add floraduo A+B, cali magic and pro tekt up to 700ppm, ph'd to 5.5, then 1 cup of the bennie tea per gallon. Every 3 days, I'll be adding 1 cup of the bennie tea per 10 gallons + 1tsp zho powder.

After doing research, the microbial bennies should take over the baddies creating the cyanobacteria and the mixture should benefit the growth of the roots stimulating white, crisp new roots thriving in to the res with tons of top growth.

Hopefully this works... It'll take 2 days to aerate the tea (starting tomorrow afternoon) so application day will be Sunday. Benefits usually show within 24 hours with new root growth being the first to show. Real benefits with complete sterilization of slime spores will take up to 2 weeks max.

Wish me luck! :peace: Time to be a ghost buster and zap slimer again round 3. :ama::firedevil::cuss::head::evil:

P.S as for other good news, the new Alita 40LPM air pump is ordered with a double XL 10.5" micro pore air stone that vira recommended to me. This will be a nice investment. Especially being a perfect fit for 5 gallon/20L buckets.
