I actually just gave them the axe after doing a root pull test. the roots came off so easily, looking so dark and snotty inside every net pot. The bacteria got to them real hard and ate them to a mush :/ They were so rotted out it was ridiculous. TD was yellowing up badly.. I'm actually happier to start fresh with the new stuff. Feels more reassuring this time. Especially with all the knowledge I've gained from you all. :dance:
You see dog... Forget your BENNIES dude.. Run a sterile root zone like I did.. Seymour.. Insert.. Ko & Vira is at the minute.. Your just gonna making things more complicated.. All you need is plenty of air.. Which you now have bro..
Now if you start a new run.. We're all here to give you advice.. That 40L pump in a 20L bucket will grow you a fucking monster dude.. Make sure a day or two before you start.. Pre soak your hydroton pebbles in bucket of pH water 5.5pH.. Now you'll see the pH rise after a few hrs.. Keep dropping it down.. & replace the water a few times keeping it at 5.5 until the hydroton pebbles are 5.5pH..
Use your other smaller pump to always have your reserve tapwater bubbling.. Always.. Every time you use it replace it..
I dunno if a scrog will work too well with DWC Vick mate.. Your always in & put of your bucket until your dialled in.. Then when you are dialled in your plant will be eating & drinking about 3L a day.. a big girl takes a lot of love.. So everyday you'll be replacing feed & water..

Good to know I've got the best help I can get. Thanks kush. Definitely gonna get started on getting that hydroton ready. Not gonna fuck with tapwater anymore though. Idk what's in it and I'd rather be sure, so I found a refill station at the market for reverse osmosis water. 5 gallon jug refill for $2.50 and it won't bother me to get that every week for res changes. It's on my way home from work anyway.. Gonna buffer the water using this tut: How to buffer reverse osmosis water Also, gonna have to add calmag to it first before any other nutes to prepare it. Is 5ml/gal good to start with? I'll let you know what the ppm is after I do a test on one gallon. From there, I can figure out if I should use either 1/4 strength or 1/2 strength on the flora duo at the beginning (3 days from seed). Chime in on this anyone? Tav?
I do have one possible way to get a scrog working that allows me to not only inspect the res, but empty and refill it without moving it anywhere. I'm going to test that method out on a junk bucket and if it works... Innovation and highdeas ftw!! Wish me luck. I'll post pics and a tut if it works. Tav had a great thing going with his scrog and his td grow! Not sure of his inspection circumstances though.. Maybe he can chime in on this too. The scrog I will be using is a 6sq foot (3x2') just so you know.
As for the bennies, after reading maaaaaaany dwc logs and heavily researching, I read that they are good for big white root growth and as a preventative for scum. This is a tutorial that one grower on this community provided: TEA for DWC buckets
I also read that this tea should not be used until the roots have hit the water and have provided their 'wastes' into the res (so, day 20 at best, 3 days before res change, repeated weekly at mid week). This microbes feed on this waste and then attach themselves to the roots, helping them take up nutrients optimally. Gotta find you the thread this one grower used it in.. He had no problems, used it at a maintenance dose and his roots EXPLODED with roots, popping out of every nook and cranny in that netpot. No root stims either. He did lucas formula and tea only. My high ass forgot to bookmark it.
I won't do any tea without you guys knowing about it. Gonna follow your info to the t, but I will test this tea out on a different bucket with one of my crossbred autos and the 25lpm pump.

This next setup is DEFINITELY solid and dialed in to the proper requirements as shown by vira, kush, komach, tav and seymour among others. LOADS of valuable information from the seymour log. He actually had a tutorial based grow thread of one of his dp gens. Very valuable information. Good to know you've got a lot to look through on here as well. Thanks for the slap!

I was never able to push past 1.2EC / 600PPM with the FloraDuo. (Running TD)
My water from 200 feet deep in the mountains is 9ppm out of the tap so it's pretty much the same.
Even the shit in the sealed jugs from the store isn't anywhere near zero. All the RO water I've tested from the store was 10-11ppm.
You've got a PPM or EC meter, right?

Yeah I have a ppm meter. Good info to have on your ec. It's amazing how they exploded with growth at such a low feed.
What's a good ec to start with the floraduo when the sprouts are in the first week?
