I give nothing but like 2ml's of B per gallon for the first week.
I jump to 150 ppm on week 2 and ride that for a while.
Usually week 3 I'll try to push for 400ppms to see if the strain will take it, but I generally end up having to back off to 300ppm.
Week 4 I'll hit 400ppm.
after that I start reading PH/PPM movements to see what they want.

GREAT info, would have never thought to start out with b.. I'll work it up just like you said. Like I've read, every plant is different and copying numbers from other growers only go so far. Gotta watch that ph/ppm fluctuation and keep it stable. Thanks again. :buds:

Just got back from the hydro shop and bought a new black 20L bucket, lid with 6inch netpot built into it and some ph up. Had a longggg talk with the shop owner about my formula and he was pushy into getting me to completely DITCH the floraduo line because it's 'crap' and go with Advanced Nutrients hydro line (Grow, micro, bloom) + dutch masters zone as a preventative, claiming he had 'the most knowledge out of other hydro shop owners'. I didn't buy into it though as I told him I would research it first. Still gotta finish my floraduo bottles.. I mean, I did spend hard earned money on them lol and they DO work just fine as tav has shown in his log.
He also did claim that the advanced nutrients line is chelated and 'PH perfect' when paired with RO water. His exact words, "you won't have to dick around with a ph pen nearly as much because it's so stable"...
I also did read this claim on the floraduo line -_-....
This is the part where my brain gets fried because everyone is tied to their own set of nutrients and their own.... I don't wanna say it... "biased" approach.

Yeah, most people would think to start with just a tad of A for nitrogen, but phosphorous is what they need for root growth early on which is what they'll be focusing on.
I find that movements in EC, and PH during the first two weeks are usually not related to the plants. They're just too small.
I run Ebb and Flow though, so that may be different in DWC.
Just how I do it.

More good info which gives me a reminder to do some reading on mineral intake for the mary. Should be good stuff to know so I'll have reassurance when picking up nutes and using them.

It's gonna be a fun summer run with a mid summer chop if I play my cards right.. I'm learning something new everyday and I'm hoping others that read this thread feel the same. I'm stoked to get the next run going. I'll try to get a video up of how the water looks with the pump on! It's insane! The bubbles make more noise than the exhaust fan
I've actually got a FloraNova experiment running right now. Was trying to kind of keep it under wraps but I can't resist, lol.
I'm always trying to make things more simple because I know THAT's what gives people who are on the fence about growing the confidence to take the jump.
My way of passing on what SeymourBuds did for me.
So, what I'm trying to do is to make as simple a process as possible with good results.
I'm using FloraNova Bloom as my base nutrient all the way through from start to finish. So far my plants love it. I honestly can't tell a difference other than they look a bit better than last run.
During bloom I will ONLY be adding Liquid Koolbloom.
That's only 1 bottle of base nutrient, and 1 bottle of additive during flowering.
I don't see how it could get much less complicated than that.
No root stimulator, no 2-3 part base nutrients, no changing ratios for veg, and flower. No transition phase. Just add Liquid Koolbloom at week 5.
I won't be posting pics of what I've got going on for a little while, but so far I'm loving it and I can already say the results will be spectacular for a 2 bottle grow.
All this in mind with writing up a "Fail Safe Med Thread".
Designing a super simple ebb and flow setup anyone could put together in 20 minutes with parts from walmart.
RO water with FloraNova Bloom, and Liquid Koolbloom.
4-600 watt HPS all the way through.
Strain will be Think Different.
I just know what it's like to fail, and many people can't afford to fail, so hopefully it'll help someone.
