Is it just that one big fan leaf that got burned? You'll be fine bro. It doesn't like there's an incredible amount of heat damage there. I can show you some pictures of what a plant looks like stretching into an 400W HPS if you want to see what BURNED really looks like lol!

If it's just those few spots; I wouldn't worry about them. It doesn't look like you baked any of the bud sites, which is more important than that one big fan leaf. I googled burned leaves; there's apparently some debate as to whether or not to leave crispy burned leaves on the plant; personally I cut off the burned areas as it's my (opinionated) belief that energy is being spent trying to repair the leaf. Do note; generally the burned areas (in my personal experience) do not regenerate (ie come back,) but new growth will form around them depending on the severity.

Based on those two pictures, I wouldn't sweat it bro. Just keep those wax winged girls away from the sun, okay Daedalus? (I'm kidding. This might not be funny if you're unfamiliar with the story of Daedalus and Icarus. I crack myself up! :roflcry: :beast: )

Good luck! :karma Cloud:

As you can see, the burn's spread to the branches aswell. One leaf looks very upset..

A few days later..
What would you do, if you burned your plant a little and by mistake..? :3

My instinct would be to trim off the dead brown parts. Just as a general housekeeping thing, like cleaning up detritus around the plants. I have read that clean is good in your grow space.
(Disclaimer: I am new at this!)
Looks like tragedy averted though and your plant is fine.

I would take the advice I was already given and quit posting every day about how worried I am. Wink wink. :Piggy Hug: Seriously bro, that is barely ANY burn damage. You burned like two tips of a fan leaf. That's like getting a tiny little wear spot on the paint of your car. If it gives you peace of mind, take a pair of Fiskars (or whatever shears/scissors you have) and just clip off the little burned sections. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this; those burned sections aren't going to be helping with photosynthesis and you've BARELY burned this thing.

There is little chlorophyll left in the burned leaf areas; chlorophyll is a pigment molecule that absorbs a majority of the violet-blue and reddish-orange colors of the light spectrum. It doesn't readily absorb the green spectrum or near green spectrum (which is why chlorophyll containing tissue typically has a greenish color.)

If you're worried about it happening again, take a gardening stake (or a stick, plastic rod, anything you can stick in the soil,) very gently take the top of the main stalk and start bending it down towards the stake and tie it to it. If it bends easy, it's low stress. If you have to apply some pressure, you're applying stress. Even if it lowers the tallest point by a few inches, that's a few inches less you have to worry about.

Honestly, the only apparent damage caused right now is to your anxiety. Deep breath friend! You're okay! Your plant is okay! Everything's good! Deep breath again! Ahhhh let that deep breath out now. We wouldn't let you flounder after you've asked this question and posted pictures, you're in great hands! :High 5: :karma Cloud:

Now go relax a little haha! :smokebuds:

If that pic is the extent of the damage, you have yourself a non-issue.

Ha, Aight' thanks, its just painful you know? watching your kid getting hurt like that
