Hi All, as per title I am looking to control my fan speed and it looks like 2 options
Cheap -a rheostat based version, think lounge lighting dimmer switch which (after reading) hums and can build up heat
Expensive - a voltage controller that lowers power going to fan, no hum
Shops I have looked at are £100+ and always looking for a bargain have found this
http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/mccmv-1-5x-1/transformer-variable-1-5a/dp/1824810

Is it the same thing but 30 quid cheaper? Has anyone used one of these?
Input needed please before I spend more of my hard earned!
Thanks for looking.
Happy growing

what sort of fan are you running just asking coz i know you can buy a tt inline fan with temp controler for around £60:smokebuds: they have speed and temp control knobs http://www.thegrowersshop.co.uk/tt-in-line-mixed-flow-fans-with-speed--temp-control-2134-p.asp

Cheers, it sounds almost too good! Have you used one? I have bought cheap before and 99% of the time had to buy again! I have a 6 inch Chinese RV currently it's the 1% of cheap still going!
Thanks
