If I needed seeds fast, could I take a fem. Think Different seed and put it straight into 12/12 and sprayed it with colloidal silver (using instructions found on this site), would I be able to harvest seeds faster/earlier? Has anyone ever tried? I know doing 12/12 from seeds especially with autos is a bad idea, but could I potentially turn this one seed into a few more, faster than using traditional auto-growing methods?

Hey not4n

Not an expert
A true autoflower will flower regardless of light regiment. So regardless if you put it into 12/12 or 24/0 it will start flowering at the same time, but with 12/12 the yield (seeds) will be lower

Do you have another Think Different Seed? It's not recommend that you spray and pollinate the same plant

you could , but dont bet the bank on having the best results possible

also , as realcarlos said , autos flower due to age , not lighting

take your plan and make a few adjustments , it might take an extra week or 2 but your results will be worth it

it sounds like you have done some reading about this already , thats a good start , now read again/more and then go for it

this should be in the fem breeding section

peace

update...kinda

awesome! thanks gang!!

I currently have a single GHS auto norhtern lights fem. in a peanut container (maybe 1-1.5 litres)...the light im using is....drumrollllllll......lol..it sits in my window..gets maybe 1 hour of direct light a day..lol...but its working! it's about a foot tall....20 inches with the peanut container. it's 8 weeks old tomorrow. I have been spraying the bottom two nodes as soon as they started throwing pistils...i'm keeping the top to grow as it wants and hopefully seedless...looks good atm. waiting for crystals to amber up and what looks like seed pods to mature fully. i'll try and post pics.

thanks again!!

So, 2 weeks ago I chopped the main cola. It hung in the closet for a day and was pretty much dry, then transferred to a glass baby food jar to cure for the other 13 days (roughly 13 days). Because of the lack of direct sunlight the buds were airy and lanky....but still killer potent. The calyxes are swollen and just look awesome in general. Crystals were straight amber and all fan leaves died off completely, making the harvest easy....only lifted the scissors once to cut the top. Dried, it was roughly 2 g's. I never gave it any nutrients at all. I used some water from my fish tank a few times early on, but that's it. the smell is really nice...kinda skunky and citrusy. The middle and bottom portion of the plant is where my seed production and colloidal silver application sites were. This girl gave me 7 fully formed, mature seeds...so ultimately this was a success. some of the pods that i thought would contain seeds eventually popped open and were just weird pollen sacks.

BREAKDOWN

CONTAINER: 1.5 LITRE PEANUT CONTAINER

MEDIUM: SUNSHINE MIX #4

LIGHT: INDIRECT SUNLIGHT - GROWN IN NORTH FACING WINDOW

GROW TIME: 13 WEEKS TOTAL

NUTRIENTS: NONE - OTHER THAN SOME FISH TANK WATER EARLY ON - WATER WAS ALWAYS PH'D TO 5.8-7.0

COLLOIDAL SILVER USAGE: ONCE PISTILS STARTED SHOWING I SPRAYED THE BOTTOM 4 NODES ONCE OR TWICE A DAY DAILY UNTIL BALLS APPEARED AND STARTED TO OPEN, RELEASING POLLEN. ONCE POLLEN WAS GENERATED FROM A FEW POLLEN SACKS COLLOIDAL SILVER USE WAS STOPPED. (TOP COLA WAS LEFT UNTOUCHED BY ANY COLLOIDAL SILVER TO HARVEST A BIT OF SMOKABLE BUD).

POLLEN COLLECTION: Q-TIP AND A ZIP-LOC BAGGIE IN THE FRIDGE.

SEED PRODUCTION: AFTER PLUCKING SOME POLLEN SACKS I WANTED TO SAVE, SOME STRAY POLLEN FELL ON THE FEMALE PARTS OF THE BOTTOM 4 NODES (ONCE COLLOIDAL SILVER USE IS STOPPED FEMALE BUDS WILL GROW IN BETWEEN MALE FORMED SITES MAKING POLLENIZATION ALMOST INEVITABLE). SO THAT PART WAS EASY.

I CANT THINK OF WHAT ELSE TO SAY. ANY Q'S JUST ASK.

I am now onto my next project. Same idea, but I will be using a dp - think different. Once I have some seeds of that and some pollen saved, I can then move on to cross-breeding. LoL. So it's gonna be ghs-northern lights X dp-think different. I'm thinking of calling it "different lights" or something. I'll fill you all in as i go!

Any updates on this? I have a couple auto beans myself and think this may be the best way of replenishing them. Have you planted any of the seeds produced using this method?

Thanks!
