I cracked a Fem Seeds Grapefruit bean 5 weeks ago and the stinking thing is still under 4 inches tall!!!

I planted it directly into it's 2 gallon root pouch finishing pot. The soil is a pro mix cut with 1/3 perlite, 1/3 vermiculite, 2 cups EWC, 1 cup dolomite lime, 1 cup greensand, 1/2 cup bone, 1/2 cup blood meal, 1/4 crushed oyster shell, 1/4 cup soft rock phosphate, 1/4 cup cottonseed meal, 1/4 cup Jamaican Bat Guano, 1/8 cup espoms, 1/8 cup alfalfa meal & 1/8 cup azomite. Soil was inoculated with Age Old Organics "root rally" & water soluble myco. Water with pHed 50/50 RO & well water (high calcium hard water) and every other watering they get a tsp of blackstrap. Starting week 3 it got a 1/4 strength shot of pHed fish emulsion once a week as well. Plants are under 324 watts of 6500k T5 light 24/7. My humidity is low, 25%. But my temps are spot on 75-78 degrees F all the time.

Not a spec of nute burn. Nice green, but not super dark green, leaves. Is she just developing roots to fill up the pot before she takes off?? I am new to growing cannabis on top of this being my first auto grow. I was under the assumption that these girls don't like changing homes so I planted her straight into her finishing pot. I am looking at peoples 30 day pics and mine is just puny in comparison. What gives??

Thats a whole lot of amendments you threw in there bro,1 cup of lime is ALOT for a 2 gallon pot and all the rest of your amendments sound like too much for 2 gallons of promix.I'm not an expert but i'd guess she is stunted from all that stuff.Did you let all those amendments cook down for a while before you planted your seed?It may have been waay to hot for your plant.Feeding more at week 3 with fish emulsion probably didn't help, all those amendments should have been enuf feed for your grow in its entirety.Where did u get your soil recipe from?

:soil: What is the ph of your mix, I noticed that was missing. The single most common issue I see by far is ph being out of wack. Your humidity is also way too low for a seedling. If you could raise it up to at least the 40s that would be much better.

Take this from someone who has experimented many plants to death, soil mixing isn't something you wing. People have specific recipes laid out for a reason, plants need a balanced diet and environment like anything else.

Pictures would go a long way in helping people help you, until then it's all guessing.

:peace: and good luck with your babies.

Sorry, I forgot to add that those amendments were to 10 gallons worth of soil. The pro mix I use is a mix our local nursery uses for their seedlings. It's pretty light on nutes. I did layer my pot as well. last 3 inches had the guano, next for inches filled with the prepped soil w/ amendments and last few top inches just straight seedling mix cut with perlite and vermiculite. Did not cook the soil. Mixed it the night before and then planted into it the next day.

Soil pH via pH probe is 6.8. Runoff tested with pH meter is 6.7 to 7.

I modeled my soil mix after The Rev's TLO mix. I intentionally went light on the amendments hoping to avoid burning and stunting. Thinking I could make up for the lack of soil nute with additions via compost teas.

I've made a few batches of soil before and you should alwyas let it cook for a month or so to let it settle down. You had 3 inches of just guano in 1 layer?Thats a hot layer man and too much in my opinion.Like Mr. Piggy said,PH is very important and you should check that before you plant anyhting and regularly check the runoff ph after you water. When i made my soil over the summer i mixed everything and let it cook for 60-90 days to settle out and checked the actual soil ph every 30 days to see where it stood.I don't know what else to tell you right now,you can let your plant keep goin till it finishes for the experience or you can start fresh. If you took the latter option i would personally go with just your promix and use your fish emulsion for nutes if thats what you have.Do you have a ph meter to keep track of your runoff ph?

Yes, I have a pH probe for the soil and a Hannah pen for testing my water.

You posted before i did lol, good you got a ph probe and meter.

Sorry for the confusion last night sports fans. I was test driving a nug of my Pure AK and was higher than a giraffes ass. I'll give you my exact soil makeup now that I am less fuzzy.

first I mixed 5g seedling mix, 2.5g perlite and 2.5g vermiculite. Total batch 10 gallons of soil base. From this base I cut out 4 gallons as my top soil and set it aside. To the remainder of the 6 gallons I added all of the above mentioned ingredients except for the 1/4 cup guano, 1/8 cup oyster shell, 1/8 cup soft rock phosphate & 1/4 cup bone meal. Then from this 6 gallons I cut out 3 gallons to use as is for my middle layer and 3 gallons for my bottom layer. To the final 3 gallons I added the remainder of the ingredients.

Does this mix still sound way to drastic in regards to nutrients?

I pulled enough soil to run one plant and the rest has been aging in their separate containers wetted down with a humic acid & seaweed extract tea to help get it activated. tossed a dozen night crawlers in each batch as well. I raise night crawlers to supply local bait stores. Always have worms to spare.
