I never grown in straight LW. When I mixed 50/50 I used lime, and if your using straight OF I would add some.

What is the pH before you buffer it?
It just really depends, they are having quality control issues. I just know without the added lime, I had alot of swings.

So, you just throw some lime in there?
Yeah, I added 1 tablespoon per gallon and never had one bit of trouble on my last grow.

I personally like to know I have a problem before I fix it. Every bag of
OF I've tested has had pH in the mid 6's. I don't assume it will be in the mid 6's every time, so I do check it before I start a grow. But, if it's already right because Fox Farm somehow got lucky and put the right amount of lime in to begin with, it seems that adding more lime could undo an already good thing.
