I've seen it done, but not generally suggested. Unlike Photos, you can't just keep an Auto in veg until she recovers from the FIM, thus stunting your Auto since the veg time is pretty short. My

Good question.. it really depends on the strain i've seen a couple of AutoMazar from Dutch Passion topped to good effect. but it's a risky business, it could very easily stunt growth.

Given the relatively short veg time of autos, FIM and topping generally isn't recommended. It sets the plants back about a week while they recover and in the end, the yields are usually about the same. If height is the issue, LSTing is generally preferred over topping or FIMing.
