I harvested my Blackberry Auto tonight after 2 weeks of flushing. The leaves never turned yellow but some did get a little purple. I am wondering if that might actually be what you look for in this strain rather than yellowing. Some of the more mature buds also took on a deep purple tinge. It seemed like time to cut her down, week 12 from seed, but I hope I didn't jump the gun. This is my first plant and I feel like I waited forever to take her down after she started looking just about ready. I can't believe how dense this plant was. It grew to a height of merely NINE inches and yielded 6 oz. wet weight on trimmed buds. I know it's going to lose a ton of water but even if the nuggs all shrunk by 50% it would still be a little over an ounce, visually. I am impressed with this plant and can't wait to hear other results to compare. The smell is just kinda green with a hint of skunkiness, not at all sweet like it was while in flower.
One strange thing - again, first grow so maybe a noob type question but I couldn't find any answers on the web... Some buds from the lower parts of the plant were fluffy and whitish yellow. The leaves in that area were also curled up, compressed, and that same color. They almost reminded me of cauliflower but with the softer texture of a portabella mushroom. There are little hairs like trichomes on these parts. They do not look like surface mold. I'm wondering is it just really immature in those spots? Or is this some kind of weird fungal problem? Please don't say it's a weird fungal problem.
By the way I clipped and dried a test sample from this plant last week and have tried it tonight. It is pretty smooth even without any cure time. For when I harvested the first piece the trichomes seemed to be 60% cloudy 40% clear. It's nice, more of a relaxing high than a stone. It gave me very bad muchies though. Very bad. I was compulsively dipping orange candies with salt and vinegar flavored pop chips in whipped cream and I could swear it was some kind of key lime pie from heaven made by an angel with a really crumbly crusty crust.

It burned really well - the sample I took was a little tiny flower bunch and one of the looser ones so it dried fast - I think it is right where it is supposed to be minus cure as far as dryness. It has a little bit of that hay smell (From what I am reading I suspect that clorophyll needs to cure out.) It has a slightly harsh but sweet almost cigar like start and then the finish in your throat and then sometimes mouth is sour. Potency is somewhat low but I think it might just be the sample. So there's your official first smoke report on the new Blackberry Auto. Smoking this strain has also made me chatty. It's not overpowering.
It's been an amazing plant and I'm crazy proud of the results so far despite her vertical challenge. I've grown tomatoes, peppers, cantaloupe, etc for a few seasons, but this is my first encounter with this plant variety. Looking forward to seeing what difference a week of growth and some curing do for this one.
What week are you on, Kiwi? Any updates?
