Grow Mediums First DWC grow, Day 27 LowRyder #2

Thanks Shumway :) I have a few questions cause I just seen your cab pics.

1. For the intake at the very bottom. Is that JUST a floor vent with no fan behind it? The thickness of the wood on the back of my cab is 3/4"

2. Im guessing the scrubber and 4 inch fan pulls the outside air through the cab and out the scrubber?

3. I noticed your 150w HPS bulb in the cab has your temps at like 100 degrees. How did it not fry your plants like it did mine with high temps hovering on and above 100 degrees?

And as far as the fan directly on the bulb, I can use one of the 4" fans i'll have extra after i take it out and cover up the hole at on the top fan.

Its just a standard 3" x 10" register being used as a passive intake,Your fan and scrubber will be powerful enough to pull the air thru without an addition fan

Those high temps were with the old cedar chest i was using,The new cab tops out around 85* depending on the room temp

You'll probably need a couple of those fans to blow on the bulb,I was using just that one 4" on my 150 and i had to rig up another one to help

i'll hang that lil red 5 inch fan from a chain and move it up and down as i move the light up and down. OR  I wonder if you could install one of those 4" cpu fans on each side of the reflector wing i have that curls and is bendable right on each side of the bulb??? Whatcha think Shumway? I think it may be a brilliant idea!!

@ SHUMWAY...... Does it matter if i center the fan and scrubber at the top of the cab? I want to put it in the top left corner so it doesnt interfere with my reflector hanging on the yo yos. Would that be okay and still pull air from the bottom vent as well as the heat from the bulbs?

If you did attach to the sides you would have to stagger the fans so they wouldn't be blowing into each other

Any way for you to make a little bracket to hang from the front of the reflector sort of like i have mine? That way it will all be blowing one direction and pushing all the hot air to the back which then can be sucked up and out

It dosen't matter if your scrubber is off to the side either,Its going to do the same job

It came with a bracket that attachs to the 4" fan, then holes to bolt or screw into cab.. I was just gonna attach the scrubber to the fan and put a nice heavy duty zip tie strap on it.

I cant see the picture of yours very well to see how you made the thing on the wing for the fan.

My fan is screwed directly to the 2x4 on top but i was just using that as an example for you since the fan is in front.

You can do the chain thing like you already said or go to the hardware store and grab a couple small L brackets which you can just screw to the fans then attach to your reflector

With the scrubber you might want more than just a big zip tie to hold it up,I used an old guitar strap for mine which i just cut it to length so it wraps around the end of the scrubber and screws to the top of the cab

:jaw:Oh man sorry to see that one go..but its all gravy..everything for a reason..Just means the next one will be 2x as big and have more vigorous growth keep me updated when u start another one....Good karma smoke to u:smoke:
