I am a complete beginner so help is appreciated. I am working an auto Northern Lights by Nirvana seeds. I am using a starting soil, and plan to transplant to Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. I have the full fox farm liquid nutrient line as well. I have heard that Ocean forest is really strong so I may have to mix it with my basic seedling soil so not to burn it. Could anyone help me with what I should do?

Currently, I am running a Blackstar 240 watt LED. I will post pictures of my grow space later. I would really appreciate any help, and tips.

I too am using those nutes, and same strain. Im still new too. I follow the fox farm nute schedule but made my first week start on week 3 of the scedule. My first grow I did not have the three granule nutes and now I do and holy shit thats what was missing on my first grow. They will bur up if you push it to see if they can take it, and they dont like it. I just use 5 ml for each called for table spoon and everything has been working great.

Welcome to AFN YepYep. That blackstar light is great btw, loads of journals on here with fantastic results using it. Another FF user here.... Test your soil PH before you plant anything, lots of low and high PH's being reported lately. Transplanting is generally not reccomended for autos, suggestion for most newbies is to plant directly in final container. Alternate is to plant in a plastic party cup and place that directly in the soil container with the bottom cut out, called 'tiered transplanting'. Thirdly, you can dig out a hole in the middle of your FFOF container and fill it with your seedling mix/lightwarrior so the seed doesn't hit the hot FFOF soil for a week or two. Same idea as tiered transplanting but minus the party cup. I planted 3 seeds direct into FFOF and burned all 3, but they still grew out and did their thing. You won't need to feed any nutes for the first few weeks, thus the FF feed schedule needs to be adjusted a bit. I'm not sure what the best schedule is yet but 1/4 strength seems to be the recommended dosage to start with. You'll also need a Calcium/Magnesium supplement since you are growing under LED. A lot of cal/mag has N in it, so you need to potentially consider an offset with the grow big if you see a N buildup down the road. Lastly, make sure your grow space is good to go before you germ your seed. Ensure it's in the proper temperature range and rH. Loads of great info in the stickeys and the journals. Good luck and happy growing!

How much of the starter soil do you have? I would do the whole grow in that in a descent size pot rather than transplant, there will be enough nutrients in the soil for the first week or two then start a light feed.

Welcome! Check out the stickies in the New Growers Forum: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/

They're all excellent guidelines for what to expect, like this sticky on the lifecycle of AF's: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/life-cycle-auto-flowering-cannabis-5113.html

How to upload pics. will be useful so that others can see what you're doing & offer tips: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/how-uppload-pics-22499.html

You'll do fine. Weed's called weed for a reason i.e. it isn't that complicated to grow. However the more you grow the better of a grower you will be.

Have a great grow!

On the Feb 8th it will be 4 weeks since Ive put the germinated seed in the ground. I decided to transplant from solo cup to soil b/c she had a rough start and appeared to have temperature trouble and signs of stress I believe. For the soil i did kind of a sectioned approach; putting a bottom layer of FFOF then a middle layer of the starter soil so the nutes wont be too harsh immediately after transplant and then a mixed layer on top.

I finally have some pictures of where i am and the space that im working with.
The box is 19''/21,1/2''/ 39''.

The grow started with noticeable yellowing and not the strongest leaves. After transplanting I noticed all of the top growth was much healthier. I started with just water and have started to introduce nutes. Ive adjusted to the 1/4 of recommended dosage for the FF schedule.

Although the top leaves are looking much better than they did, ive noticed that the upper fan leaves tips show a slight yellowing but i would like to fix that ASAP. What is my issue for the yellowing? Too Much nutes? Also when if at all should i remove the lower yellow leaves? Are they taking away from the rest of the plant?
Sorry for the newbie questions lol

So this is the point i have reached thus far. I plan to pick up a pH meter and a thermometer/humidity meter soon. A friend of mine suggested also recommended I try LST for the space im working with.

Thanks guys any help is greatly appreciated!! Peace and happy growing!! :D

Ok a friend of mine helped me troubleshoot what I believed to be a calcium def. so we'll see how that progresses. Also attempting LST.... Ill post new pics soon

I reccomend that you do a bit of research here. The problems I see new grower's almost always do, is follow advice from many, or more than one other person. The many experienced growers here have a reputation of being Masters of thier craft. They can "feel" how that plant is growing, and amend any deficiencies. It is a good idea to maybe follow one of these master growers. Just one, not all of them. That way you know you are getting straight advice, and not a patchwork quilt of of meandering advice. Many people have different ways of doing things, so the grows will never be similar to someone elses.

Great luck with your grow, I'll be around to see how it goes.

Peace

MasterEekman you couldnt be more right, this place is the best! Go AFN.

hey guys,
its been a minute since I posted.....I havent been keeping up with posts at all........but im about 8 weeks in and ive come to an issue...
for starters I messed up and started giving flower nutes when it wasnt ready, about a week or so early, and idk if that stunted the growth of if something else happened but now a lot of leaves are canoeing and curling up. a friend of mine said that it was over watering and i should let it dry out but when i try that it looks like its on its last leg with limbs drooping down but when i feed, the leaves look better and more lively but the curling remains...

Any help or pointers are appreciated!! Thanks peeps!
