I will definitely try leaving the plant in the dark for 2 days.(saves electricity hehe)

If i were to dry in a brown paper bag (macdonalds) and leaving it in my closet with another perpetual grow happening, will the led lights affect the bud drying process in anyway ? (Even when the brown paper bag blocks the light?)

I thought that purple leaves were some sort of deficiency or nute overkill.

I will try my best to give it a good cure and resist that devilish girl.

I'm gonna harvest on tuesday so stay tune guys !! Gotta help me guess the weight of my yield as i have no scaling machine, will let the pros analyze !!

I would suggest a brown paper grocery store bag if you can get your hands on one for drying but maybe a McDs bag would suffice.

I suppose your grow space would be fine for drying. Depends on your Relative Humidity in there. Youre shooting for 50-55%. Shouldn't really matter though. Just don't over-dry your buds before getting them into jars. I normally dry in a bag for about 4 days, then put them in jars and measure RH to see where they are at and go from there.

Also, I wasn't suggesting that you have to wait until after the cure to smoke. Just keep it in mind that it will get more potent with age. It also doesn't taste or smell too great right after drying.

I tried finding brown paper grocery store bags but i can't find any so i guess i would just have to get McDs bag.

My RH without the lights on might be higher around 70% so i guess the drying would take longer ?

So starting today i'm giving my girl 2 days of darkness but there are some light leaks from the outside but i guess it's fine.

Should i hang dry for 2-3 days before drying in the bag or should i just dry them in the bag and then leave it in my grow area while there is another grow going on ?

Yeah for sure i will smoke some small buds after drying but will cure them too. Just need some answers now.

I wouldn't dry in 70%+ conditions. You don't want your growing space that high either during flowering. That pretty much prime mold conditions and exactly what you are trying to avoid.

In fact, I'm not sure it will even work at all in that enviornment. Your goal is to get the drying buds lower than 70% so you can start the cure.

edit: It doesn't really matter if you hang dry or bag dry imo. Some say it drys out too fast in a bag and ruins the taste etc. Others say the exact opposite

But with the lights on, if it brings the RH down into the 60's, you should be fine, it just may take a little longer

Yeah i know but i tried reducing the humidity with them dehumidifier balls but that's all i can do. I realized with the light off the humidity goes higher.

I will try my best to make sure everything goes right.

I will probably hang dry for 2-3 days and then to the bag for 2-3 days and then curing.

Hey guys i'm so excited to harvest that i had a hard time sleeping yesterday !! One more day :crap:

Anyway i'm gonna cut and trim tomorrow and then straight to paper bags. I'm gonna show a step by step so just tell me if any of them is wrong or if it's okay.

1 - Cut the base of the plant by the stem.
2 - Trim all the big fan leaves away(I would like the sugar leaves to curl up and protect the trichs when dried so i don't plan to cut it).
3 - Cut up the buds into smaller pieces and then place them in the paper bag just one line.
4 - Fold the paper bag in half or maybe thrice(from top) and then tape it so it wouldn't unfold.
5 - If RH is 50% dry for 6 days, If RH is 60% dry for 7 days and so on
6 - Check every 2-3 days to make sure no mold or any other diseases and also to check the stems to see if they snap or bent.
7 - Straight to jar after drying. Will get to the curing/burping later.


PS: Let's say my buds are drying in the brown paper bags in my grow area, will the led lights penetrate through the brown paper bags and then affect the buds in anyway ? I will probably be doing a new grow while drying.

Can any of you pros help me out with this issues ?

Whoo Hoo!! This is what we've been waiting for.
Sounds silly but stick your head in the bag. What is the intensity? Maybe two bags. Cannot answer to what if any bad things would happen to the drying, I have never done that!! Soon tho, soon!!

How many times should i fold the paper bag with the buds in it ? Once, twice or thrice ?

I will probably fold the smaller macdonald bag with the buds in it and then placing it into a bigger macdonald paper bag and then leaving it in my grow area while another grow is happening. Hopefully the lights don't penetrate through and affect the drying process.

Day 77 Report (HARVEST DAY)

Hey everyone, today is the big day. First of all i'm pretty baked and my story would have some errors :crap:

So today i harvested and i placed the buds in the brown paper bag. Although the yield isn't as monstrous as those really good ones but i'm really happy and satisfied because it's my first grow.

I'm currently drying them in my grow area. Will be posting more, stay tune.

You can look at the beautiful buds with them purplish tint to it.
