New Grower First Grow Ever- HYDRO - Auto - Journal

not much .... thats why they make the air cooled reflectors... cuz once the glass warms up... its radiating more heat as light is converted to heat... thats the greenhouse effect partially.. the other part is glass reflectcs IR (heat) and allows light to pass throguh... so light comes in... converts to heat... and cant get out as well as it got in.. :toke:

First casualty. Found one of my guys leaned over. I knew he wasn't going to make it but the other three are living. My airstone killed it. It only bubbles on one side. Buying a new one today. You get what you pay for...

Ok I have a problem. My light had stopped working. Came inside and noticed thethaty someone had turned the power bar off. When I of the ballast in it makes a strange tick noise and the light, lights up a very small purple color. Right at the core. Is it the bulb the ballast or both? Thank you in advance
The plants look great btw pictures soon

Without a spare bulb to test, it's kind of hard to figure it out... Here's the kicker though, Lowe's and HD carry 400W HPS bulbs! :wiz: Buy one, test it, if it doesn't fire up.. bring it back to the store. If it does, well.. that's up to you. I'd recommend a mixed spectrum HPS bulb with autos though.

I bought a new bulb. got it for cheap @$68.99 compared to the 100 they wanted for the higher brand. my plants have gotten some height on them, but i have a question. the tips of my strongest looking plants have turned yellow on the very tip of the two jagged leaves. i know there is a picture thing on this forum that shows what the different color in leaves mean but i cant find it. this is th first ive seen of the color change, infact when i left the house this afternoon they werent this color on tips. they were green. I put the nuts in at less than half strength for first weeks feeding. using sensi bloom, and voodoo juice right now. followed the advanced nutrients calculator. my tested ph is between 6.4 and 6.5 right now, should i lower it? can i add ph down directly to the water with plants currently feeding?
