Live Stoner Chat First Grow Intro.

Hello all smokers and growers! I'm not the official Royal Queen Seeds Company, just a dude with a desire to grow. My buddy ordered my seeds from Herbies pick n mix Sunday. RQS Amnesia Haze Auto and Short Stuff #1. I'll only be growing one at a time.
Recently I built a cardboard grow box (1.5' X 2' X 3.2"). The inside walls are covered with reflective mylar. For Lighting I'm buying a 150w Hps and possibly a supplemental T5 during it's veg growth . For Ventilation and Smell I might purchase 2 PC fans because I already have activated carbon to make a scrubber. I will attach the scrubber to the exhaust fan. Will the PC fans have enough power to scrub the air or to even just to keep the plants cool?

I'm buying a PH tester along with PH UP & Down For obvious reasons. For Soil I'm buying FoxFarm's Ocean Forest inside a 2 gallon airpot with extra perlite for them roots. I'm buying FoxFarm's tiger bloom for my nutes. Will my plant be happy with being fed only water during veg and diluted bloom when it flowers?

I will be doing a journal on this grow! Sorry for all the newbie questions.

Just a heads up mate, judging by your setup - there will be quite a few (myself included) that will be concerned with your cabinet design and will want to offer you safety advice!

We take the safety of our members very seriously and don't want to see you set your house on fire!!

With this in mind, please don't be offended if anyone offers any alternatives to the cardboard grow area!

I was also pretty concerned about my box catching fire so I decided to cover all the cardboard with duck tape making it have better insulation and hopefully a lot more resistant to fire. I also cut the bottom off the box and replaced it with wood, making it slightly water resistant. Soon I will be upgrading to a tent but I don't have the money to do that at this time.

Welcome RQS.....I'm just a newbee here,but I'd be a little concern'd about the Ocean Forest..Some find it a touch too hot for the seedlings..Now I also used it before reading more on here.But I cut mine with Happy Frog to a mix of 50/50..The gal's did't seem to mind it..Just a heads up

Welcome RQS,

get a smoke alarm. It is better than having the Fire Dept pay a visit. Some veg nutes would not go amiss. Don't need to be expensive stuff.

I came across some more money today So I'm going to use my cabinet. It's already painted white. I might add mylar. It's bigger and implanted in the apartment wall. I couldn't use it before because i had no way to make holes in it for ventilation. Now that I got the money I'm getting 2 100 CFM duct fans, duct tubing, and a carbon filter. so Ill have ventilation and air scrubbing also height is a lot less of an issue.
