Hi guys,

First time posting here, I've been looking for a forum for a couple of days & decided on this one! Looking around is pretty overwhelming, but I hope to learn a lot from here. :)

I was hoping that someone would be able to help me diagnose what is wrong with my plants at the moment, & generally just kinda point me in the right direction... I've looked at a lot of pages about self-diagnosing, but I don't know that much yet so hopefully you guys can help me learn!

Basically, this is my first grow. Long time smoker, but never ventured into growing it myself until now. I've had a look at guides but to be honest, as I said above, there is so much contrasting information that it's a little overwhelming, so if I'm being honest, I've winged a lot of my grow so far.

I started with 4 Royal Queen Royal Auto seeds 5/6 weeks ago, only 2 actually sprouted but they've been coming along nicely & I've managed to deal with whatever issue have come along. But within the past couple of days the leaves have developed what looks like light-rust patches, & this is on both the plants. I've checked for bugs & can't see anything, so I am curious to know what the issue is for definite.

I'm growing in Coco Professional, under a 600W Sunmaster grow lamp. The temperature is always between 20-26c & I have an extractor fan that I put on an hour a day. I'm currently on a 24/0 cycle, but don't mind changing. I live in the UK though & the temperatures are yet to settle down to something consistent. I'm PH'ing my water to 6-6.5 but maybe leaving the water in the grow increases the PH, causing me an issue? Any other information is required then I'll do my best, but as I said I've been kinda winging it, & getting a feel of it.

I've attached pictures of my plants currently & a close-up of the leaves. As well as the marks, the big leaves seem to be drooping down & I'm not sure why. Sorry for the wall of text, but any help is appreciated!

Welcome to AFN, Ganja_Gremlin! If you would be so kind to hop on over to intros and say hello, let the folks get to know ya. We really need pics of your ladies in natural light, as to give the best diagnosis. I would start off to say your ph on your feeds is a bit high for coco. Try around 5.6-5.8 in veg and 5.8 in flower and you should be fine. looks like ph to me. coco is ran like hydro and needs to be in the ph zone...

Hi mate,

Thanks for that, I've made a post over there & made myself known. :)

In regards to the plant, I appreciate the guidance. I'm just about to give them a little water so I'll make sure I lower the pH a little more, & keep it like that for a while, see what happens. They don't look too bad aside from the marks & droopy leaves, & they're starting to smell quite a bit, so hopefully it's as simple as this!

I'll definitely get a couple of pictures of tomorrow afternoon, once I'm back from work. It's a little difficult to get them in natural light as they're being grown in the back of my garage, in a greenhouse, but I'm sure I can definitely figure something out!

:smoking: hey G'-- in coco, you say? that's a pretty specialized medium to grow in, and cannot be treated the same as soil,... close to hydro, really, for pH (high 5's, low low 6's), and it has unusual CEC (cation exchange capacity) characteristics-- coco is a Ca hog, and must have elevated levels of it to keep it sated, to allow extra to be available to the plant,... lots of other things too, so if you haven't, start digging up info here in the Coco section, and on the web... You have what looks like Ca defc. to me, so like Brim' says, lower that pH, and get some Ca-Mg supplement going, and include a weak dose of it even when just watering,...

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice. Sorry it's taken me a few days to get some different pictures, the weather here has been a bit unpredictable! Anyway, I took them outside today & got a few pictures, hopefully they help...

I don't think it looks too unhealthy, but I'm a bit worried at how much it looks like the leaves are drooping, they just look a bit...depressed. I have started using lower pH water since this post, so hopefully I'll see an improvement.

@Waira, thanks for that mate. The guy at the grow shop advised me that Coco is one of the easier mediums to use & is perfect for a first timer, not too sure that's the case anymore! You mention about the Ca-Mg supplement, would you be able to expand? As I've said I'm yet to use any nutrients. I do have Canna A+B but they've not been used yet, as I've found it difficult to find advice for UK growers on the nutrient side of things, as a lot seems to be US-specific. If you could recommend a product for this I'd appreciate it. Anyway, pictures below. The link should take you to an album with 5 pictures.

To be honest mate before I googled that term I didn't even know that was a thing! Nice one for that, I appreciate the advice. As I said, I do already have Canna A+B nutes, but the guide that came with them is so complicated it makes me feel stupid, so I don't feel too comfortable using them..

With nutes give half of what they recommend

hey up mate uk grower also in coco you need to feed from the start as it has no nutrients in it I use canna A+B full strength is 4 ml per litre of water and by the look of her she needs feeding get 5 ltrs of water if its tap you need to let it air off for 24 hours (gasses off the chlorine) and mix in 1.5 ml of A(per litre of water5x1.5) and give it a good mix then add 1.5 ml of B(per litre of water5x1.5) then stare again then ph (5.7 to 5.9) in veg and give them enough so you get a bit of runoff out the bottom of the pot and water them slowly about the calmag you can get it off ebay I use this one most grow shops in the uk stock it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plant-Mag...hash=item3d007b4f2f:m:m8KwqxKsmkqMChQ5j7x39Ag and when you get to flowering we can talk about bloom booster :pass:ps listen to waira man knows his shit :smoking:

Cheers for all that mate, massively appreciated! I think I'll give them a little water tonight as I've got a little bit left over, but I only filled my jugs back up an hour ago or so, so I'll leave them until tomorrow evening, mix in that stuff & give it a shot! As I said, I did look at the little guide you get with the nutes, but I couldn't make head nor tail of it! Do you think I should use the whole 5 ltrs over the two plants tomorrow, or would that be a bit too much? I think I gave them a little too much water at the start & almost drowned them, so I've tried to avoid that again haha!

I know I've made a lot of mistakes with this grow, & looking around the site & reading what other people are saying still massively confuses me a lot of the time, but I definitely feel like I'm learning a lot, & I guess that's something to take away from your 1st grow.. It's literally my first time growing anything at all, let alone cannabis!
