No real need for the razor blade, save that for the end to scrape the hash off of your snippers.
Take off all of the major fan leaves first, the big ones - then snip each satellite cola from the main stalk.. I do satellite colas first as they're rather boring and a little more tedious.. get as close to the branch as you can.
I trim sugar leaves that do NOT have trichomes on them off.. if they're covered in trichomes, I leave them on to curl up on the bud... you pretty much want to eliminate all the green that has no trichomes.. I hold the buds facing top down so I can see from the underside and then snip as close as I can to sugar leaves that are sticking out that have no thc on them.
I then take my trimmed buds and put them in a brown paper bag, the buds can be no bigger than a golf ball to make sure they all dry evenly.. space them out, at least a 1/2 inch between the buds on all sides.. roll the top of the bag down to close it, put it in a dark place for 4 days..then check on it.. Try not to open it while it's drying in the 4 days as there's a gas exchange that goes on and the brown paper bag slows down the exchange process while speeding up the drying (stoner lore) which leaves A LOT of the flavor in the bud.

Thank you WG, all the info has helped a great deal. It has bin a slow process but i would just like to give you an update with were I'm at with the harvest so far while i indulge in a smoke. 4am here lol and still got ore to chop =/
Use the trim to make QWISO and the tiny tiny buds as well.. freeze the trim/shit buds for 24 hours.. I'm telling ya, you'll love it.. 
I'd trim those "wrinkly" sugar leaves off of the buds, but you can wait 'til it dries more if you want.. that would probably give some harsh smoke, never tried it.

them 2 branches were trimmed and cleaned up after the pic was taken. The pile of leafs on the tray to the right is all the stuff that has THC on and all the crap is on in the bin or on the panda film. Deffo saving all the crud for some qwiso. I had never herd or knew of that method until you mentioned it and i looked into it. I Keep meaning to throw some rep your way but i need to dish it out to other people before i can.

Left the lower buds to go for another 1-2weeks before i chopped em and they gave 4grams in dry.
I wouldn't like to say what the actual final weight was as i smoked alot of it while it was drying out but this is what i have after a cure in jars
She has a fruity smell and tastes that keeps getting better with every day spent in the jars. Not the strongest bit of smoke out there but the taste makes up for it.
