New Grower First Grow/Journal. DP AutoMazar Now under GN-Ms0006 LED

What would be the best way to cool the hps bulb with out having to buy a in-line fan and cooltube?
I have no wonga(cash) to splash and want to save up for a more powerful 4inch inline for my out-take. Once i can afford a new one i will use then use the current in-line i have for an intake.

Edit- Also could someone point me in the right direction for actually cooling it efficiently when i can afford too with 2 4inch in-line fans.

All help is greatly appreciated and needed.

Thank you

Paronic

Buy a regular table fan, and make it blow air directly against the bulb. Should help.;)

Just a quick question regarding Nutes.
When switching from veg to flowering nutes do i keep the dose the same or should i start with a weak does like how i started with the veg nutes?

Run bloom @ 50% to start ideally, because the plant is more established.

I'd try running two CFLs at once before I tried the 150W HPS.. have you considered that? Nice gifts ya got there brother... you shared what you do with them I take it? Be careful man.

Good Evening WG.
How ya feeling? Hope all is well.
Ifigured it would do no harm as the person I got them off grows. I highly doubt(Hope) he will(won't) say anything but yeah loose lips sinks ships.
I don't have an extra fitting for the cfl's to have 2. I've installed the HPS. Probably wouldn't of if i had seen ya post before I went and did it.

She's looking droopy as i had her out the light while i installed the hps and she needs to be watered tomorrow as the soil is dry. How far away should i have this light? It's about 14inches away atm.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a quiet 4inch in-line fan? the current one i have is stupidly loud.

Thanks for the advice on the nutes WG. Very much appreciated

Edit- i found this and it seems to be the best choice i can find.

That's a great price for that fan, at least from what I can see. On hydroponic websites a little bit stronger of a fan is twice the price. 24DBa is about the loudness of a good quiet 120mm PC case fan.

The HPS is a touch and feel thing, especially with an open bulb interfact - if it only feels "slightly warm" on your hand, it's probably okay for the plants.. if it feels like centralized heat anywhere on your hand or is noticeably hot, it's too hot for the plant tops. Ideally, 12-18" is where you'd be.. the higher it is, the less dense the buds will be - BUT, if bringing it close causes burn ... obviously some airy buds is a better route than burned nugs.

The reason I recommended two CFLs was because the CFL is 10-12k lumens each, a 150W HPS is, at max, 16k lumens with a top of the line bulb.. One for one though, the 150W HPS is a better choice.. so you made the right choice regardless bro.

I will probably get that in-line ASAP. I can hold my hand at the tops of the plant and not feel much heat but since installing the hps my temps have risen too 82-85 from 75-80. I might have to return to the cfl if i can not keep the heat down. Would this hurt the plant?
So Would I be better with 2 CFLs vs one 150watt hps then?

My seeds arrived today direct from RQS. I Ordered them on Friday and was surprised they arrived already. I dunno when i will be popping these. De-baiting if i should wait for my Automazar to finish before i do or not.
Any suggestion on what size pot i should run these in?
Keeping in mind the size of my ten 60x60x140cm.

So a little update on the Automazar.
Day39
I fed her yesterday with 1ml Bio-Grow, 2ml Bio-Bloom and 8ml of Root Juice to 4litres of water. I won't be adding bio-grow to the next feed.

I Have got my temps back in the 70-80 range now and have also stopped my inline from being so loud so hopefully save myself some pennies there. Can't wait to get my other 2 started.

I took the metal clamps off that held the ducting on and used Ali tape instead. I also put a load of plumbing tape around the parts were the in-line fits to the wall mount. I can just hear the noise of the fan spinning now. Much better.
